• A product is something made in a factory; a brand is something that is bought by the customer. A product can be copied by a competitor; a brand is unique. A product can be quickly outdated; a successful brand is timeless.
• If your resume and presentation looks just like the person that was in the position before you or after you, then you are not unique therefore not branded.
Concept of "branding" yourself.• A brand is a set of differentiating promises that
link a product to its customers.• In personal branding, you clearly communicate
the unique promise of value that you have to offer.
• In your case, your past accomplishments should predict your future accomplishments with this new employer. Only your accomplishments are unique and thus make up your “branding” or differentiating promises about you.
