Attendance PolicyAttendance Policy• If a student is absent from school,

that student must bring an official note (court document, obituary, or doctor’s note) the next morning explaining why he or she was absent on the previous day.

• The official note must be turned into the attendance office the day following the absence before going to second period.

more days are considered truant. These students will not be

allowed to participate in any school related activities including but not limited to athletics, field

trips, and graduation.

• Students will receive a copy of his or her attendance, which identifies absences as excused or unexcused.

• The teacher will sign if the absence was in fact excused and return the attendance sheet to the attendance office.

• Otherwise, students will take the copy home for parents to provide documentation for the absence. (personal illness, death or serious illness of an immediate family member, court appearance, or a religious holiday or event)

• Students must be seated in 2nd period by 8:10am.

• NO STUDENT will be allowed to enter 2nd period after 8:10am without an admit from the office. Students can only receive an admit if accompanied by a parent. Those who do not receive an admit will be sent to the tardy room (cafeteria).

Students entering the building after 8:30am

MUSTMUST be accompanied by an adult.

Students who are late for 3rd-7th periods will be assigned after

school detention. If a students does not attend after school

detention, an overnight suspension will be issued.

Before the suspension is cleared, detention MUSTMUST be served.

ALLALL students who are tardy for class must

receive an admit from the attendance office.

Rules for Entering the building

Students may…Students may…• Enter the building beginning at 7:30am.

• Enter the building through the front doors only (Lauderdale entrance only)

• Not stand in front of the building after 7:30.

• Only go to the cafeteria or atrium area before the 8am bell rings. Students are not allowed to walk through the building for any reason and NO FOOD is permitted in the atrium area.

• Must be dressed in appropriate uniform attire and come through the metal detectors.

• Must have all bags searched. All confiscated items may be picked up on Fridays by parents only from 3:15 – 3:45

• Students are allowed to carry CLEAR BACKPACKS ONLY.

• Have a parent sign them in if they arrive after 8:30. Without a parent students will be sent to the tardy room and receive an overnight suspension. Parents must clear the suspension before the student can return to school.

from 7:30am – 3:00pm

• Students will not be allowed in any classroom if not in compliance with the uniform policy.

• Tan, navy blue or black bottoms

• White long or short sleeve shirt with a collar.

• T-shirts must be worn as undergarments AND must be WHITE. All accessories must be uniform colors (belts, socks, jewelry, hair accessories etc…)

• Pants must fit at the waist, not being over or over or under sized under sized ((No sagging, no tights as pants or spandex is allowed.).

• Skirts, shorts, and jumpers must stop at or below the knee.

• NO DENIM may be worn as part of the uniform.

• All male students are required to wear belts with their shirts tucked inside the pants.

• Ladies who wear belts must wear them through the belt loops and they must be uniform colors.

• Light jackets, sweaters, vests and cardigans are permitted, but must be one of the uniform colors in order to be worn throughout the school day.

• Heavy (winter) coats and jackets are to be stored in lockers during the school day.

Shoes???Shoes???• Shoes can have a heel no higher than

one and a half inches.

• All shoes (athletic, boot, sandal, or dress shoes) must be uniform colors ONLY.

• All sandals must have a strap on them.

• Not bring food or drinks out of the cafeteria.
