Bom, primeiramente vamos localizar a cidade de Bauru, conhecida pelo Brasil afora, principalmente pelo seu sanduíche e também porque foi aqui que Pelé começou a jogar seu maravilhoso futebol. Daqui também saiu o primeiro astro-nauta brasileiro “Marcos Pontes”... e outros grandes nomes mais.

Bauru is known all over Brazil specially due to the sandwich and also because it was in this city that Pelé started playing soccer . The Brazilian astronaut Marcos Pontes was born in Bauru as well.

A história do sanduíche bauru começou em São Paulo, no Ponto Chic, em meados de 1930, quando o estudante bauruense Casimiro Pinto Neto pediu no balcão para montar um sanduíche respeitando alguns critérios básicos nutricio-nais. O sanduíche ficou tão bom que os amigos começaram a pedir “me faça um sanduíche igual ao do Bauru” que era o seu apelido.

The “story” of “Bauru Sandwich” started in the city of São Paulo, at “Ponto Chic restaurant” around 1930, when a student from Bauru whose name was Casimiro Pinto Neto, asked the cook to make a sandwich following some basic nutri-tional criteria. The sandwich was so delicious that his friends started ordering the “Bauru Sandwich”.

Por um tempo o Ponto Chic ficou fechado e José Francisco Jr, o Zé do Skinão, manteve suas característi-cas originais. Até hoje esta receita é sucesso em Bauru, espalhada pelo Brasil afora, conquistando muitos paladares ao redor do mundo.

“Ponto Chic” remained closed for some time, nevertheless José Fran-cisco Jr, whose nickname was “ Zé do Skinão”, maintained the sandwich’s original characteristics. This sandwich is a great success in Bauru as well as in Brazil and is being divulged all over the world .
