Who is Mr Burnett? This will be my 16th year teaching I started here at Lee (2nd Grade) Masters at Pepperdine University B.B.A. at University of San Diego. I take a developmental approach to teaching
which includes cognitive, emotional, and social development.
Born and raised in Rossmoor.

to help them gain a better understanding of Historical Events.
Writing- step up to writing/Writer’s WorkshopMulti paragraph essays, Persuasive Letters,
Research Reports, and Narrative Story are the 5th grade essential writings
Grammar and Spelling is incorporated into daily writing and weekly lessons
Math CGI – Cognitive Guided Instruction Houghton Mifflin Math Series Jiji math in computer lab Hand on Equations Need to know and practice
multiplication facts! Some topics covered: (level of difficulty
will increase from past years) Multiplication, Division, Fractions and Decimals, Geometry, Algebra, and Percents.

1. Creating the right environment * place *lighting *schedule- habit
2. Look in the Minder Binder *to check if they have completed all their homework *if they have worked for 1 hour and 30 minutes (focused)
and have not finished please stop them and write me a note.
*Let me know- parent/teacher notes in agenda *Please remind your child to put their homework in their

Homework Assignments Given Daily – Some are due
the next day, others later in the week Students must walk through the door
with their homework complete – They will not be allowed to call home for forgotten work
LATE WORK/REDOS – Will be accepted but there score will be lowered by 10% (Max of 89%)
STAR BULLETINS Go home on Mondays and are due every Tuesday!
Homework will be posted on the website, but do not rely on this as students must write in their Minder Binders
