Standards Based Instruction and Multiple SourcesQuestions to consider:

1. What does standards based instruction look like?

• How do we know that learning targets, learning activities, and success criteria are aligned to course standards?

2. How frequently do students work with a variety of sources?

• What skills are needed for students to successfully learn through sources?

• What strategies support teaching and learning through multiple sources?

• How can the Language Arts Florida Standards in Social Studies courses support teaching and learning through multiple sources?

3. How is vocabulary incorporated into teaching and learning?

• What strategies are used to support vocabulary acquisition?

• How frequently are students required to use academic and content area vocabulary?

4. What role does cognitive complexity play in teaching and learning?

• Does instruction require students to process information at multiple levels?
