Access the JournalLasers in Surgery and Medicine

• The official journal of the Society is published and distributed to ASLMS members eleven times per year.

• The journal contains clinical studies, reviews and research reports about the latest findings and uses of lasers in all surgical and medical specialties.

• Members will receive email content alerts, a full journal copy through mail, and access to the current issue plus 30 years of issues online.

• To access online issues, new members must register and establish an account with Wiley InterScience to access online issues. Click on “Journal & Newsletter” under the Member Services tab on the ASLMS website.

• You could be selected to join the scientists, researchers, allied health professionals, and physicians who will present their work at the Annual Conference.

• Presenters’ work will appear in the internationally renowned ASLMS journal Lasers in Surgery and Medicine

ASLMS annually sponsors a limited number of undergraduate, graduate, medical students and others working towards degrees in relevant fields of medicine, science, engineering, and nursing to attend the ASLMS Annual Conference.

• For the past five years, ASLMS has held a Silent Auction in conjunction with the ASLMS Annual Conference.

• Net proceeds from the Silent Auction supports research projects designed to foster the development and use of lasers and other related technologies in medical and surgical applications.

• Can’t attend upcoming Annual Conference? Don’t worry—items will be available for bid on-line prior to the Conference. Any items that do not receive winning bids on-site during the Conference, will be placed back online for bidding with 24 hours.

Partnership with Industry• The Industry Advisory Council works with ASLMS to increase the

value of Society membership, improve patient care by supporting research initiatives, and the clinical application of lasers and related technologies in medicine and surgery.

• Companies who exhibit at the Annual Conference and members of the Industry Advisory Council are invited to post their new products.

Dr. Horace Furumoto Innovations Professional Development Award

• The ASLMS is very pleased to administer the annual Dr. Horace Furumoto Innovations Professional Development Award.

• This award was founded by Candela Corporation, Cynosure, and DEKA to memorialize the genius, leadership, and commitment of Dr. Horace Furumoto. These firms have joined together to create an endowment which annually may award up to $10,000 to an individual(s) who displays the potential for leadership and innovation characterized by Dr. Furumoto.
