NEWARK — After more than six hours on her 5 a.m.shift, the cargo inspector finally found it: an explosivedevice hidden inside a cardboard box, wrapped andpresented like a package at someone’s front door.

It was only a training exercise, but Pina followed therules by the book: She sat like a good girl, called in herpartner and got her favorite chew toy.

Pina, a 5-year-old German shorthaired pointer, hasbeen part of the Transportation Security Administra-tion’s canine explosives team for about 18 months, asone of more than 800 dogs stationed throughout thecountry.

Every workday, TSA inspector Francis Boccabellawill lead Pina through warehouses and ferry terminalsand onto cargo planes. They walk up and down theaisles with Pina leading the way, giving every box, crateand package a cursory sniff or two before trotting

JAR of Hope Foundation has raised $70,000 for Du-chenne research.

Now Raffone is taking the campaign to another

level: On Sunday, the foundation is coordinating anattempt to break the world record for most peopledoing push-ups at once.

The gathering, called “Strength in Numbers,” willtake place at the Manalapan Recreation Center.

Raffone said he is expecting a huge turnout for theevent, including former Giants cornerback MarkCollins, former Rutgers football running back JoeMartinek and an adjudicator from Guinness WorldRecords.

“I’m getting the chills just thinking about it,” hesaid. “I believe we can raise close to $50,000 on one
