Part of You Tell Me YoursA Small Things Project

You Tell Me Yours is an ongoing series of interactions by Small Things that create safe spaces where adults can talk to teenagers they’ve never met before. And say the things that they’ve always wanted to say, whilst also putting their heads together to solve the problems of the world.

Adults of Preston Give Advice To Their Teenage Self is the latest chapter and was created on a sunny market stall on Preston Market on Saturday 8th September 2012. It was made as part of MAPS Festival / Preston Guild. The Guild only happens every 20 years so maybe we will go back in 2032 and get a group of teenagers to ask the same question:

“If you could give your teenage self one piece of advice what would it be?”

Small Things is a company making creative adventures that revel in the challenge and joy of existence.

We make creative interventions, inventive and beautifully crafted performances, and playful experiences that inspire learning, change and development. We do this by taking inspiration from stories and situations that reflect the world around us, and that help us understand our own place within it.

Our work is linked to local communities and identities, and created and shared in all manner of spaces and places. Everything we do is inspired by an interest in the power of art, culture and creativity and the part that this can play within wider social change.

This piece of work was created by Liz Postlethwaite, Rosie Stuart, Jennie Brown, Charelle McKenzie, Eni Kurtula and Conor Shaughnessy
