ACR4Ambulance Child Restraints

GOALSThe goal of this training is to ensure that all pediatric patients are secured properly in the back of the ambulance.

OVERVIEWThe ACR-4 is available in 4 sizes

STEPS FOR USE1. Position Harness straps2. Attach the Harness3. Place Patient4. Fit Shoulder straps A5. Fit Shoulder straps B6. Fit & Engage waist straps7. Peel back upper strap8. Attach crotch strap9. Tighten Harness straps10. Secure Pt’s legs

STEP 1 Position the Harness straps by pulling the buckle through the loop around

the frame rail

STEP 2 Attach the Correct size Harness based on the pt’s weight.

STEP 3 Place the Patient on the harness. Make sure their waist is in line

with the waist strap

STEP 4 Fit shoulder straps A Pass the red loop through

the D ring Make sure that the white

stitching line is past the D ring for optimal engagement of the Velcro on the strap.

STEP 5 Fit shoulder straps B This is the chest strap,

snap the buckle in place and tighten it to secure the pt’s torso

STEP 6 Fit & Engage the waist straps Secure the double waist strap

across the pt.

STEP 7 Peel back the upper strap

of the waist strap

STEP 8 Attach the crotch

strap Then secure the top

waist strap over the crotch strap

STEP 9 Tighten the harness

straps to make sure the pt is tightly secured to the stretcher

STEP 10 Secure the pt’s Legs

If the pt is tall enough that their legs reach down to the bottom stretcher strap, make sure you use that strap to secure their legs just like you would an adult pt.

FOLDING IT Lay the harness out flat and fold all the straps towards the center. Roll Each end up on itself Tuck inside the bag Remove the 4 straps from the stretcher Place all components inside the carry case when you are done using the

system!
