A. The Bretton Woods Agreement (1944) (Dollar-Based System)
� Establish IMF and World Bank to assist member countries on monetary and structural trade problems.
� Announce the new par value (Adjustable Peg) $ 35/ ounce
� Create a new type of reserve called “Special Drawing Rights (SDRs)” consisting of five major currencies: USD, JPY, DM, FF, GBP ($1.35/SDR). SDRs can be exchanged only among the Central Banks.
