Issue Date: 25:11:09 Revision No :1 Date: 02:03:10
INTRODUCTION CSEZen series offers a Multifunctional comprehensive smart protection solution for Feeder, Generator, Motor & Transformer segment. CSEZen Family of protective relays are advance numeric relays that provides multi protection and monitoring with reliable and fast protection solution in a single unit. In the same family of CSEZen series, the CSEZenTxx is an advance transformer protection solution which provides fast, sensitive and secure protection on transformer internal & external faults. CSEZenTxx also provides a automation solution of power control. It compliance with IEC60870-5-103, IEC61850, Modbus protocol for high integration of protection & control. CSEZenTxx offers following model based features to cover the wide range of user. Measurement, Protection & Metering Communication Disturbance Record Event Record Fault Record DI/DO/LED Matrix Programmability
APPLICATION CSEZenT differential protections are used as the main protection and control units for two winding power transformers, for both internal faults and faults in the influence area of current transformers. CSEZenT units require no intermediate transformers to adjust CT Ratio and vector group correction, as these adjustments are made by the relay itself in software.

PROTECTION FUNCTIONS
The CSEZenT is a numerical multifunctional relay ideally suited for the protection of any two winding transformer against two phase internal faults, inter-turn faults and ground faults as well as overcurrent protection for both phase faults and earth faults separately for each transformer winding.
Percent differential protection (87) CSEZenT unit has dual slope characteristic for differential protection with programmable percentage slope settings, adjustable slope breakpoints, and adjustable additional time delay. This unit provides programmable CT ratio correction factor for primary and secondary side of transformer and CT connection configurations through programmable vector groups. The differential unit operation characteristic is the following one:
Harmonic restraint A second and fifth harmonic restraint current is calculated for each phase and extracted using DFTs. The magnitude of this current is used to discriminate between faults and inrush conditions, restraining differential function during inrush caused by energization and overexcitation. If blocking on harmonic setting is enable then relay should block all the tripping operation if 2
nd/5
th harmonic
are higher than the set values.
Instantaneous differential protection The trip operation takes place once the programmed time since the differential current exceeds the programmed setting has passed. It does not have harmonic restraint.
Restricted earth protection (87G) Earth protection (50G, 51G) will be available either to winding 1 or winding 2 which is selectable. This function is applicable when a winding is an earthed star and has a measurement CT in the earth wired. If the difference between the residual and neutral current (algebraic sum of phase current) equals Iref exceeds the calculated value according to the tripping characteristic then a trip signal is given. The restricted earth unit operation characteristic is the following one:
Phase Overcurrent (3x50/51) This unit gives backup protection for transformer external faults. If these external faults are not cleared by the primary protections, this overcurrent unit will actuate, otherwise the transformer will be seriously damaged due to overloads. Each winding features two levels.
Ground Overcurrent (50G/51G) This is an overcurrent function used on the current measured at the grounding of a power transformer, being its function to detect faults to earth. Each winding features two levels.
Issue Date: 25:11:09 Revision No :1 Date: 02:03:10
Neutral Overcurrent (50N/51N) This is an overcurrent function applied to the vectorial sum of phase currents, being its function to detect faults to earth. Each winding features two levels.
Current unbalance (46) This function protects the installation against current unbalances resulting from anomalies in the power system or unbalanced loads.
Thermal Image (49) The thermal image unit protects the transformer against damage resulting from heating up during overloads. This unit is based on the calculation of winding temperature via thermal image.
Breaker failure protection (50BF) It verifies the breaker correct actuation clearing a fault, causing, otherwise, the trip of the necessary breakers to clear that fault.
Frequency protection (81O/U) This unit features 2 frequency steps that may be independently set as maximum frequency or minimum frequency units, allowing load shedding.
Over-under voltage protection (59/27) This unit protects transformers against overvoltages and undervoltages, giving a trip command when the voltage exceeds or drops below a set level for a set time.
Overexcitation protection (24) The overexcitation unit prevents transformers from working at a greater flow density than that for which they were designed. Avoiding heatings and consequent damage in the transformer due to overexcitation. This unit is based on V/Hz overexcitation detection method with two independent levels.
AUTOMATION Lockout relay (86) Relays programme with this function will act when the differential unit acts (instantaneous or percentage type) so that they can be used as a locking device for breaker close circuits.
Protection function locking Each protection function may be locked via a digital input.
MONITORING FUNCTION Trip circuit supervision (74TC) This feature detects any anomalies in the circuit with the switch open or close. It detects trip circuit supply failure of circuit breaker, tripping mechanism failure like circuit breakage contact degeneration in wires, contacts and coils.

Disturbance Record The CSEZenT/G relay has an oscillograph data recorder with the following characteristics:
Oscilloscopic recording can trigger on Pickup or on trip or by DI. It is programmable.
Each record comprises the samples from 8 analog signals and the status of 16 digital inputs and 16 digital outputs.
30 samples per cycle It is saved a maximum of 1500 cycles, and the
number of cycles per record is programmable (for example: if 50 cycles are selected, there will be there will be 30 records of 50 cycles).
The prefault and postfault cycles are programmable
Records in non volatile memory The disturbances are collected and exported to
PC using USB interface. The data is graphically displayed and can be taken on printer.
