There are a lot of potentially dangerous materials and equipment in the lab including sharp instruments, bunsen burners, glassware, chemicals, gas and fire. Safety goggles should always be worn when working with chemicals.

Protecting your eyes is critical! Slight irritations can get worse and could even cause permanent damage if eyes are not flushed as soon as they come into contact with an irritant.
