Key Elements of the 4 Cornerstones Program

• A VCH antimicrobial stewardship program to ensure appropriate, cost effective use of antibiotics on the clinical units within our hospitals

• An environmental management program to improve clinical equipment surface cleanliness as well as clinical equipment management on each clinical unit

• Implementation of a risk-managed approach to the isolation of VRE clients in an effort to support patient flow and reduce unit supply costs

• An equipment cleaning program
