Pastor’s Corner
My Dear Parishioners, I wish you all once again the joy and peace of the risen Christ as we continue to celebrate this season of Easter. I would ask you to keep in your prayers our candidates for First Holy Communion. We have 28 children who will be receiving our Lord for the first time on the weekends of April 22nd and April 29th at the 11:30 AM Mass. Their pictures are posted in the vestibule of the church. We are very proud of them! May God continue to bless them and may their love for the Lord in the most Blessed Sacrament only grow strong-er through the years. I want to thank all of those who par-ticipated in the DMI Survey that concluded about a month ago. We reached out to all of our 957 households to participate. We re-ceived 240 responses (165 online and 75 on paper). All of these were sent to the Catholic Leadership Institute so that the data could be analyzed. A sub-committee has been formed and we will attend a Consultation Session on May 7th at which all of our results will be shared with us as well as practical suggestions as to how we might share these results with our parishioners in addition to suggested initi-atives that might benefit our ongoing discus-sion concerning parish life, vitality and evange-lization. I look forward to sharing these re-sults with all of you and continuing to discern ways for all of us to continue to grow in our faith as a parish community. I ask you in your charity to please pray for the repose of the soul of Fr. Edward Ham-ilton. Fr. Hamilton was a very devoted priest and many of you came to know and love him because he frequently offered Masses at OLA. He loved coming here and recently told me that as long as God gives him another day, he wants to say Mass here whenever we need. Fr. Hamilton was 90 years old. May God grant him eternal rest and may he hear the words of our Lord in Heaven, “Well done good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of your
Lord.” Love and prayers, Fr. Carey
