Today’s  couple  is  less  about  tradition  and  more  about  creating  a  unique  event.

Within each wedding element, there are numerous options. With so many options, it is no wonder why so many couples opt to hire a planner. Wedding planning can certainly be a bit overwhelming.

However, today’s couples can design

their own dream wedding. All it takes is some time, research

and a shared vision.

A Thousand and One Colors

Many brides are looking to add an exotic flair to their wedding, which can be brilliantly done with the inclusion of jewel colored fabrics and opulent decorations. Exotic elements:  •  deep reds •  fuchsia •  royal purple •  vibrant orange •  turquoise blue •  patterned cushions •  gold accents

Gold is the perfect way to add opulence and in a classic way. When it comes to decorating try: •  hanging lanterns with

cutout designs •  sequined overlays •  bejeweled plates Between your décor and additional lighting, you can truly transform a venue into your own palace.

Look to incorporate more than one color into your wedding’s overall scheme. Be inspired by nature’s palette. Test out various combinations

to find distinctive, complimentary hues.

Love bold prints and

polka dots? Good news! Vendors are catering to these trends by stocking up on these

trending patterns.

Reception

While  it  is  still  advisable  to  offer  some  basic  guest  favorites,  couples  are  welcoming  unique  pairings  to  their  tables.    If  you  wish  to  have  a  more  traditional  entrée  selection,  why  not  be  a  bit  more  creative

during  your  cocktail  or  Viennese  hour.

Tasty  trends:   •  Bite  size  delicacies •  Spicy,  ethnic  offerings •  Build  your  own  “stations” •  Comfort  Foods   •    When  it  comes  to  the  dining  experience,  you  may  wish  to  choose  the  traditional  route  or  perhaps  consider  a  family  style  dining  option.    Although  less  formal,  this  is  a  great  way  to  bring  both  families  together  in  a  relaxed  seQing.

All  that  Cake

The importance of the cake has returned with a fury. With today’s wedding, there

seems to be a dessert divide. ‘Naked’ cakes offer a simple yet taste preference. They can be layered with fresh fruits, custards and whip

cream. On the other end of the spectrum, you have the elaborate wedding cake.

In  2015,    receptions  are  all  about  options.

Along  with  the  cake,  there  are  other  offerings

such  as  mini  pastries,  dessert  stations  and  other  sweet  treats.

The  Venue

Modern  couples  are  repurposing  industrial  buildings,  former  plants  and  art  studios.

Weddings  are  not  simply  one-‐‑day  affairs  anymore.    If  you  plan  on  extending  the  celebration,  be  sure  to  provide  accommodations  and  special  activities.

Today’s  modern  reception  embraces  the  threads  of  many  cultures,  personalities  and  styles.

What  is  most  important  is  that  your  wedding  is  your own.
