GA Ice updates from the 2010 Battle in the Bayou basketball tournaments. GA Ice took home the championship in the French Quarter Division.

TRANSCRIPT

Team played really well the first game! Tami Morice and Kristina played

extremely well. I was pleased with our focus and effort! We didn't turn the ball over and our team defense was better.

As I watch other teams here I am excited about this opportunity to play against the caliber of teams and in front of a ton of coaches. We ended up winning 61 - 49.

Update #1 vs. Jacksonville Lady Rams

Update #2 vs. Missouri Valley Blazers

Mackenzie played extremely well. Hit shots, defended, and rebounded. Tami played well

again and Kaela, Victoria, and Taryn played solid! It was a

physical game and the referees dictated the tempo. We won in

overtime by 3.

Update #3 vs. Cy-Fair Texans Spark Gold

We jumped out on them early was up up 20 before we knew it. Taryn continues to play well and Santos was a huge spark early. I’m starting to understand how Santos operates. Victoria is solid and proving I can trust her with the ball in

her hands. Overall really good. Got the Arkansas Mavericks next at 5:50 pm.

They have been looking for us since we beat them at nationals last year!

Update #4 vs. Arkansas Mavericks

We stepped up and met their intensity early in the 1st half. Leading by double digits at the half! Santos,

Kaela, and Lexi really controlled everything in the first half. Tami

continues to be solid and Victoria has been very useful. We won by 1. We play a very similar team, OK Select

tomorrow at 12:30, Wish us luck!

Update #5 vs. OK Select

Just face a touch OK Select team that was very physical and forced us to react! Kaela was tested by having a girl face guard her

the whole game! She really responded well. Taryn, Lexie, and Santos really did a

good job of handling ball pressure and defending their guard penetration. We ended up winning a close game by four

(58-54). I’m proud of the way we are handling close games down the stretch.

Update #6 vs. Team Memphis

We just really jumped on them! Lexis hit some early 3’s and opened the game up. I think we wore them

down by half and had contributions from too many kids for them to

make a run! I’m excited about how we are playing and we are really showing people we are ready for

the next level of play!
