TRANSCRIPT
American Colonist Postcard You are an American colonist in the
early 1700s. Create a postcard to a
friend in Europe encouraging him or her
to settle in your colony.
Write your message on one side of the
postcard and color a picture of a scene
from your colony on the other side.
Choose a colony based on your choice at the Colonial Fair—one that you would have
most likely settled in. Use your handout notes & spoke diagram.
Guidelines
• a postcard theme with a colorful colonial scene
• a greeting and a closing
• what region your colony belongs to (New England, Middle, or Southern) and
what makes your region different from the others.
• explain why you chose to settle there (three pull factors your colony offers)
• explain what life is like
• proper spelling and grammar
