FOOD COLLECTION Next Sunday we will be collecting food here at St. Joseph’s for the food pantry in Immaculate Conception Church, Amenia. Please leave food on our Rectory porch. The food pantry in Amenia is open on the third Saturday of the month from 9:45am to 11am.
Please pray for our recently departed:
The Souls in Purgatory
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon
them. May their souls and all the souls of the faithful departed through the
mercy of God rest in peace. Amen.
UNCLE AL’S THRIFT SHOP
Celebrating the birth of our country and wishing everyone a pleasant July 4th weekend! Have you checked out
our red, white & blue window display?
Everything is moving along smoothly at the shop. We are most grateful to our volunteers who have adapted to
the new regulations. We’re still smiling, even though you’re not sure because of the masks! To our customers
who are glad that Uncle Al’s is back in business and is well stocked, thank you for your confidence and support.
You might think we had time on our hands and sat around twiddling our thumbs during the three months that we
were closed. Not so! In fact our dedicated workers spent many, many hours at the shop clearing winter stock,
cleaning and rearranging. And many more hours were spent getting ready for Uncle Al’s reopening. That’s why
when the shop reopened on June 13th, customers found plentiful amounts of summer clothing neatly hung, and
wonderful buys in fine goods and items for the home. A big thank you to all the volunteers who took part in that
effort.
We appreciate the generosity of our parishioners and those in the community who donate clothing, household
goods, etc. That’s what keeps Uncle Al’s going! (We remind you that donations are not accepted at the shop.)
Future dates when donations can be left at St. Joseph School will be announced soon.
Thank You From Fr. Wilson
Thank you for your very generous food donations to our Vine &
Branches Food Closet. As we give out mostly basic food items, your
donations are most welcome as they provide variety.
Your steadfast support enables us to continue this important
ministry for our community. Together our parishes really make a
difference for families that need extra help during these difficult
times.
Once again, my sincere thanks.
Your Friend in Christ,
Fr. Kent Wilson
