THE cOMPANY

LINZ ELECTRIC S.p.A., part of the Pedrollo Group of companies, is specialized in the production of alternators and rotating welders. It was founded in 2002 and became in few years one of the major players in the sector. The ALUMEN series is a set of single-phase, 4-pole brushless alternators with an auxiliary winding to regulate the voltage loaded onto highly insulated capacitors to protect from high ignition voltage. This series has been especially designed for use in LIGHTING TOWERS with metal halide, halogen or LED lamps.

VOLTAgEsStandard 120/240V, 60Hz. Special voltages on request at both 50 and 60 Hz.

VOLTAgE AccURAcY± 5% from no load to full load, cosφ =1 at constant rotation speed.

sHORT ciRcUiT cURRENTIn case of short circuit the permanent current exceeds rated current by threetimes, ensuring the correct operation of protections.

OVERLOAdA 10% overload for one hour every 6 hours is accepted.

OUTPUT VOLTAgE wAVE fORMThe low harmonic content is <5% in the damping cage version and allows feeding any type of single-phase load. The damping cage allows a good operation also in case of distorting loads (not provided with the ALUMEN-X version).

TRANsiENT VOLTAgE diP AT RATEd LOAd iNsERTiONThe voltage dip when load is inserted is lower than 10% at cosφ =1 and nominal rpm.

MEcHANicAL sPEcificATiONsThe ALUMEN series is manufactured by means of advanced technology and high quality materials. The frame is made of vibration-resistant aluminium alloy. The shaft is made of high tensile steel. The rotor is designed to withstand the runaway speed of traction motors. The bearings are life-long lubricated. Axial ventilation is ensured with intake from N.D.E. (non-drive end). Both rotation directions are possible.

ELEcTRic cHARAcTERisTicsInsulation is obtained with class H materials for both stator and rotor, in accordance with UL standards. Windings are tropicalized and low-loss lamination is used.

TERMiNAL BOARdAlumen S and M series with capacitor box are supplied with terminal board for 120 and 240 Volt connections.

LEd LigHTiNg TOwERsThe Alumen series with damping cage and a special winding can be used at a variable speed between 1300 and 1800 rpm, to supply LED lighting towers and auxiliary AC single phase connection at 120 or 240 Volt, whenever the output power is controlled by specific power supplies available in the market.

La serie ALUMEN incluye alternadores monofásicos, 4 polos, sin escobillas, con bobinado auxiliar para la regulación del voltaje, alimentado por condensadores altamente aislados contra los sobrevoltajes durante el encendido. Esta serie ha sido diseñada particularmente para las TORRES DE ILUMINACIÓN con lámparas halógenas, a vapor de mercurio o de LED.

PREcisióN dE LA TENsióNEs del ± 5% de vacío a plena carga, cosφ =1 con velocidad de rotación constante.

cORRiENTE dE cORTO ciRcUiTOLa corriente permanente en caso de corto circuito es tres veces superior a la corriente nominal, permitiendo un buen funcionamiento de las protecciones.

sOBREcARgAsSe acepta una sobrecarga del 10% por 1 hora cada 6 horas.

fORMA dE ONdA dE LA TENsióN dE sALidAEl bajo contenido armónico <5% con jaula amortiguadora, permite alimentar cualquier tipo de carga monofásica. La jaula amortiguadora permite un buen funcionamiento incluso con cargas no lineales (la versión ALUMEN-X viene sin jaula).

TRANsiTORiO AL MOMENTO dE APLicAR LA cARgA NOMiNALLa caída de tensión al momento de aplicar la carga es menor al 10% a cosϕ =1 y giros nominales.

cARAcTERÍsTicAs MEcáNicAsLos alternadores ALUMEN han sido fabricados con tecnologías de vanguardia y materiales de alta calidad. La estructura de aleación de aluminio es resistente a las vibraciones. El eje es de acero de gran resistencia. El rotor, concebido para resistir a la sobrevelocidad de los motores primarios. Los cojinetes son lubricados de por vida. La ventilación es axial con aspiración del lado opuesto al acoplamiento. Admiten ambos sentidos de rotación.

cARAcTERÍsTicAs ELÉcTRicAsLos aislantes son en clase H tanto en el rotor como en el estator y en conformidad con las normas UL. Los bobinados están tropicalizados y la lámina magnética es del tipo a bajas pérdidas.

PLAcA dE BORNEsLas series Alumen S y M con caja porta-condensador son suministradas con placa de bornes para conexiones a 120 y 240 Volt.

TORREs dE iLUMiNAciON cON LEdGracias al empleo de alimentadores C.C. disponibles en el mercado, los alternadores Alumen con jaula y bobinado especial se pueden emplear a velocidad variable entre 1300 y 1800 rpm, para alimentar torres de iluminación con LED y salida monofasica auxiliaria en AC a 120 o 240 Volt.

It is available in three different lengths with SAE5 coupling. A single central eye-lift makes the handling very easy and thanks to a very simple rotor extraction procedure, assembling and disassembling time is reduced.

Una característica distintiva de la serie Alumen es la de ser compuesta por una carcasa y brida SAE5 en una sola pieza en aluminio presofundido, disponible en tres tamaños. El empleo de un anillo de elevación incorporado facilita la manipulación de la máquina y una simple extracción del rotor permite de reducir el tiempo para desensamblar y ensamblar.

The reliability and top performance of our alternators is granted by the quality of our materials and our highly automated production, which guarantees the highest level of controlled and constant quality. High protected stator windings with an additional impregnation, windings specifically designed and oversized capacitors, permit to manage strong overloads and voltage peaks typical during light tower starting and guarantee the highest reliability even in severe working conditions.

La calidad de los materiales utilizados y el proceso de manufactura altamentecontrolado garantizan la fiabilidad en el tiempo de nuestros alternadores. Además, el estator lleva una impregnación adicional para una mejor protección del devanado. El empleo de condensadores sobredimensionados permite de gestionar las sobretensiones típica de las torres de illuminación en fase de arranque y garantiza una fiabilidad mejor también en las condiciones de trabajo más difíciles.

Alumen can be supplied in different versions:1 - with or without capacitor box 2 - capacitors with external cable extension3 - with or without damping cage4 - with or without terminal board inside capacitor box for frame S and M.

The rectifier bridge has a direct access and screwed diodes make the replacement extremely simple. This advantage, combined with fast rotor extraction, expedites all maintenance operations.

Gracias a su carcasa de aluminio, el mantenimiento de los alternadores Alumen es fácil y rápido. La revisión de los diodos del rotor es facilitada por el acceso sencillo al rotor mismo.
