Bringing Children Back to School- a school meal Programme • Alpla India has adopted a school near the factory ZPHS ODF in Sangareddy

mandal near to Isnapur. The strength of the school is 135.

• The company has sponsored midday meals and snacks for the complete school children through the Akshayapatra Foundation. Apart from the meal program Alpla also taken initiatives in working for the skill development program for the children through the Akshaya life skills programs and health awareness programs also.

• The company has provided furniture for the school in the computers lab and also has plans to repair the school toilets to give the children a healthy environment.

LONG TERM POSSIBIBILITIES : PEF WITH AVANTIUM

Poly-Ethylene Furanoate (PEF) from Avantium is 100% plant based. The new bio based polymer performs even better than regular PET. Avantium decided to build up a bottle development platform and teamed up with large companies like Coca Cola, Danone and ALPLA. Up to 2016 available quantities will still be limited, only bottle consortium members will have access to quantities of the pilot plant to sample PEF bottles.
