Leslie Reyes

I am Leslie Reyes and I am twenty-six years old. I was born in Puerto Rico, but I have been raised in the North side of Chicago the majority of my life. I am a full-time student and mother of two very bright children ages six & five.

Before attending National-Louis University I was a full time Family Worker at Chicago Commons Child Development Center. Working at Chicago Commons was definitely something I enjoyed, but due to my lack of college education, my growing within the organization was impossible.

Because I did want to grow and climb the success latter, I realized that attaining my degree would be the only way to have both job and financial security while not being confined to doing so much for so little pay. So, with faith in one hand and a bit of fear on the other, I applied for the Elizabeth Harrison Scholarship.

Is there anything else youd like to know about me?! An educational system isn't worth a great deal if it teaches young people how to make a living but doesn't teach them how to make a life.
