1. HOW TO USE THIS MAINTENANCE MANUAL
ThismanualisspecifictoAlbinpumphosepumps.Itallowstheuserstoinstall,tostartandtoundertakemaintenanceofpumps.Allpersons,fittersandusersmustreaditinitsentirety.
Documentsconcerningthegearbox,theelectricalmotorsaswellasallotheroptions(pulsationdampener,hoserupturedetectoretc)areprovidedinannex.Refertointhesedocumentstoknowthespecificdetailsofeveryapparatus.
YourlocalAlbindistributorisatyourdisposalfortheinformationthatyouwouldnotfindinthismanual.Forshortreply,pleaseindicatethefollowinginformations:

2. SECURITY AND GUARANTEES
2.1 USE OF THE PUMP
Thepumpwasdefinedforaspecificapplication.Otherusewhodonotcomplywithenvisagedusearenotguaranteed.
Albinpumpcannotbeheldresponsiblefordamageorpossiblewoundsproducedduringtheuseofthepump.ThepumpwasdesignedinaccordancewithEUnormsandapplicabledirectives.Usethepumponlyforapplicationsrepresentedabove.Ifyouwanttochangeyourapplication,firstcontactyourAlbinpumpdistributor.
2.2 RESPONSIBILITY
AlbinpumpSASwillbeundernocircumstancesresponsiblefordamageorwoundscausedbynonrespectofsecuritydirectivesandmaintenanceinstructionscontainedinthismanual,orbynegligenceduringtheinstallation,use,serviceorrepairofAlbinhosespumps.Moreover,additionaldirectivesofsecuritycanbenecessaryaccordingtoworkingconditionsoraccordingprocess.ContactyourAlbinpumpdistributorifyounoticeapotentialdangerduringtheuseofthepump.
2.3 TRAINING OF THE USER AND INSTRUCTIONS
Everypersonwhoinstalls,useorperformsanyoperationsofmaintenanceonthepumpmustbequalifiedandmusthavepreviouslyreadthistechnicalmanual.Anytemporarypersonnelmustbesupervisedbyskilledusers.
Theorderofexecutionofoperationsdefinedinthismanualmustabsolutelyberespected.Storethismanualnexttothepumpsothatitcanbeconsultedatanytime.
2.4 CONDITIONS OF GUARANTEE
AlbinpumpS.A.Soffersaguaranteeof2yearsonthepump’sparts.AlbinpumpS.A.Spromisestorepairortoreplaceforfreealldam-agedpartsexceptiftheirdeteriorationcamefromapooruseofpump.Thisconcernsallpartsexceptforthehoseofpump,theclamps,thesleeves,seals,bushingsandbearingsaswellasthepumpshoes.
AlbinpumpSASwillnotbeabletoacceptarequestofguaranteeundernocircumstancesiftheusedpartsarenotofAlbinpumporigin.AnydamagedpartscoveredbyguaranteemustbereturnedtotheAlbinpumpfactoryortothelocalAlbinpumpdistributor.Thereturnedpartsmustbeaccompaniedwiththedulyfilledandsignedformofsecurity.Acopyofthisformisattheendofthismanual.Itmustbeappendedinavisiblewayoutsidethepacking.Thepotentiallydangerouspartsforhealthmustbecleanedbeforereturningthemtotheproducer.Itmustbepointedoutontheformofsecurityhowpartswerecleanedandthosethathavebeendecontaminated.

3 DESCRIPTION.
3.1 Identification of the pump
AlbinPumpsareidentifiablebythepumpplatelocatedontheupperbracket.Thisoneincludesthetypeandserialnumberofthepump.Thisserialnumberleadstoallinformationconcerningbuildingmaterials,natureofthehose,characteristicsofthegearboxandcharac-teristicsofthemotor.Thegearboxaswellasthemotorincludetheirowndescriptiveplatetheytooonwhichyoucanreadthereductionratio,powerandelectricalvoltageetc…
3.2 Operation principle
PHASE 3
Assoonas,atthedischargeside,theshoeisdetachedfromthehose,theothershoediametricallyoppositeisalreadyincompressionthusavoidinganinternalproductleakage.Theproductisthensuccessivelysuckedandpushedduetothewheelrotation.
PHASE 2
Thepumpedliquidhasnowenteredthehose.Thesecondshoewillcompressthehoseandpushtheliquidtowardsthepumpoutlet.
PHASE 1
Thepumphoseiscompressedsuccessivelybytwoshoesassembledonarotatingwheel.Thefirstshoebypressingthewallsofthehose,willcreateavacuumandattractthepumpedliquidintothehose.

3.4 HOSE
TheAlbinhosesofaremanufacturesaccordingtoverystrictspecificationstoacquirethebestperformancesofthepumpand toassureanoptimumhoselife.Theyareavailableinthreematerials:NaturalRubber(NR),perbunan(NBR)andEPDM.The materialofthehosemustbecompatiblewiththepumpedliquid.ConsultanAlbinpumpdistributortodefinethebesthosefor youruseorconsultthechemicalresistancetableonourwebsite.

3.5 GEARBOX
OurstandardgearboxesarecoaxialgearboxesforpumpsALH10toALHX40andplanetaryforpumpsALH65toALH125. Theyhavebeensizedaccordingtotheimportantradialloadsofthepump.Consultthegearboxmanualofmaintenance providedwiththepumptoknowthequantityoflubricantrequestedaswellastheperiodicityofoilchange.
3.6 ELECTRICAL MOTORS
Thestandardmotorsprovidedonourpumpsarewithsquirrel-cageandhaveavoltage220/400&400/660V50Hztri-phase. Ifthepumphastoworkinanpotentiallyexplosiveenvironment,pleasecontactyourAlbinpumpdistributor.
3.7 AVAILABLE OPTIONS

4 INSTALLATION
4.1 UNPACKING AND CONTROL
Duringthereceptionofthepump,pleasefollowtheindicationspointedoutonthepacking.Undertakeavisualcontroltobe surethatnodamagehappensduringthetransport.Ifthiswouldbethecase,pleasecontactyourAlbinpumpdistributoras quicklyaspossible.
4.2 CONDITIONS OF USE
ALHpumpscanworkinatmosphereswherethetemperatureisbetween-20°Cand+70°C.Pumpsaredeliveredinstandard, paintedwitha150µpolyurethanepaintwhichallowsthemtoresisttocertainaggressiveambiences.Theyaredesignedfor indoorsetupsandprotectedoutdoorindoors.
4.3 SETUP Beforeanyinstallationofthepump,checkthefollowingpoints:
-Thepumpisdeliveredwithaframeprovidedwithfouranchoringholes.Itmustbefixedonasolidbasewiththeslopeof whichdoesnotexceed5mmfor1mandmustbefirmlyfastenedtothisone.
-Requireenoughspacearoundthepumptoundertaketheoperationsofmaintenance.Ifsuchwasnotpossible,considerthe movingofthepumptoaspaceplanedatthiseffect.
-Makesurethattheroomissufficientlyventilatedtoreducethewarmthproducedbythepump.Leaveasufficientspace betweenthemotoraerationhoodandthewallinordertoavoidairadmissionobstruction.
4.4 PIPING
Suction line piping: -Theinternaldiameterofthepipingmustbesuperiortothatofthepumphose(see§3.4.). -Itmustbetheshortestandmostdirectpossibletoavoidsuctionloss. -Installavalveonthesuctionlineespeciallyifthepumpisonload. -Limitthepresenceofbendsandmakesurethattheyareaslargeaspossible. -Makesurethatpipingcansupporttheservicepressureofthepump.
Discharge line piping:
-Theinternaldiameterofpipingmustbesuperiortothatofthepumphose(see§3.4.). -Itmustbetheshortestandmostdirectpossibletoavoiddischargepressureloss. -Limitthepresenceofbendsandmakesurethattheyareaslargeaspossible. -Provideaspaceforapulsationdampener(seepicturebelow). -Ifthereisavalveonthedischargeline,installapressurevalveorapressuregageofprotectiontoavoidany possibledamagetothepumpandtotheinstallation. -ItisrecommendedtoinstallaDillatoflex®pipetoabsorbvibrationscreatedbythepumppulsations.
Duringthepumpgroundstudy,provideenoughspaceforthehosechangeaswellasthepossibleinstallation ofapulsationdampener.Distance(L)istherequiredlengthforhoseremoval.

4.5 LIFTING THE PUMP
Pumpsareprovidedwithtwoliftringsfittedontheupperpartoftheframe.Whileliftingthepump,respectthe followingpoints:
-Liftthecompletehosepumpusingtheliftingringplusadditionalsupportonthegearboxandthemotorusingsuitably ratedstrapsorslings. -Neverexceedtheupperlimitsofliftandcontrolthemotorizedpumpweight’stablebelow. -Themotorizedpump,givenitscentreofgravity,willtendtooverbalanceonthepumpheadside.Makesurethatthe personsareatasecuritydistanceofthepumptoavoidanyriskofwound. -Neverraisethepumpotherwisethanbythepump’sliftingrings. -Neverraisethepumpbyit’sorificesnorbyit’sbrackets.
5 PUMP STARTUP
5.1 PREPARATIONS a. Connecttheelectricalmotorinaccordancewiththelocalrulesandregulations.Performthiswork byqualifiedpersonnel. b. Makesurethatthelubricantlevelarrivesatthelevelofthesightglass.Addlubricantifrequiredby thebreatherorbythesightglass(see§6.1.). c. Makesuretheshimmingofthepumpisaccordingtothepumpuse(see§6.5shoeshimming). d. Checkthedirectionofrotationofthepump.Itisrecommendedtoinstallarotationinverteronthe motorforthehosechange.
5.2 STARTUP
a. Installpipingattheinletandoutletofthepump. b. Makesurethatvalvesattheinletandoutletareopened. c. Startthepumpbycheckingitsdirectionofrotationbythesightglass.

6.2 HOSE CLEANING Thehosecleaningcanbedonewithoutremovingthehose.Itcanbedonewithwaterorwithacleaningliquid(check compatibilitywithhosematerial). Withnumerousproducts,itisnecessarytocleanthehoseaftereverypumpinginordertoavoidthehardeningofthe productinsidethisone.
ATTENTION!Makesurethatthetemperatureofcleaningisadaptedtothehosematerial.
6.3 HOSE REPLACEMENT
Beforeanyhosechange,checkthefollowingpoints: a. Thisservicehavetobeperformedskilledpersonnelthatisacquaintedwiththismanual. b. Thepumpelectricalsupplymustbedisconnected. c. Inletandoutletvalveshavetobeclosedtominimizelossofproduct. d. Alwayscarryclothesandnecessaryprotectionaccordingtothepumpedproduct. e. Respectallrulesnecessaryforthemanipulationofthepumpedproduct.
6.3.1 HOSE REMOVAL
1. Disconnectandremovethepipingofinletandoutlet.

6.3.2 PUMP CASING CLEANING
Thisoperationisnecessarywhenahoseburstandwhentheproductcontaminatedtheinsideofthepumpcasing.1. Unscrewcoverboltsbyleavingtwoscrewspartlyscrewedoninthecasing.Withdrawthecoverofthecasinglightlyandfixa shackleinoneoftheholestothecoverhighpoint.(PumpsALH80,100and125areequippedwithaliftingring).Installa liftequipmentinthisshackleandwhileraisingthecoverlightly,unscrewremainingscrews.Withdrawthecover.
2. CheckthestateofthecoversealREF10andreplaceitifnecessary.
3. Checkthestateofwearoftheshoesandreplacethemifnecessary(see§6.4Replacementofspareparts).
ATTENTION!Awearofshoescancauseofproblemstothepumpandprovokeabnormalhoselifetime.
4. Inthecaseofahoseburst,itispossiblethattheshaftsealREF26aswellasthebushingREF27havebeennotablydamaged whenpumpinganabrasiveliquid.Relateto§6.4ifareplacementofthesepartsisnecessary.
5. Washthecasingwithclearwaterandwithdrawanyresidues.
6. Drythepumpcasingentirely.
7. Replacethecoversealinitsgroove.
8. Reassemblethepumpcover.
6.3.3 REASSEMBLY OF THE HOSE
ATTENTION!Youshouldneverinsertanewhose withoutamountedcover.

9. Reversethesenseofrotationofthemotor.
10. Togivesomejoltsinthemotortobringthehoseinsupported counterstheflange.
11. Undertakeoperation7atoutletside.

13. TakeawaytheboltsoftemporaryassemblageofflangesREF47 andfixthepiping.
14. Openthevanesatinletandoutlet.
