The foyer in the picture has dramaticMediterranean style architecture withheavy wood beams in the high ceiling, tall arches along the foyer walkway

mirrored by tall arched windows. Thelighting is reminiscent of lanterns thatlined foyers in ancient Spanish haciendasand grand Italian villas. Dark wood floorsand doors are complimentary to thebeams in the ceiling and the dark iron inthe lighting. To maintian the romanticMediterranean feel of the architecture, the interior design includes dark woodfurniture and dark iron wall art. The darkantiqued arch mirror is complimentary tothe architectural arches and windows.

The red theme tapestry adds color andthe woven texture softens hard surfaces.

The green topiaries as well as the wovenbasket of floral are equally important tocolor and soft texture. The copper bowlsatop the foyer table enhance the redtones in the floor, doors, iron work, wall

Mediterranean decor varies widely and gives you many opportunitiesto decorate a restaurant in your own style while remaining true to thetheme. Traditional Greek- or Roman-inspired statuary is one easy way

to indicate a Mediterranean theme in the foyer, setting the visual tonefor the rest of the space. Earth tones, like tans and browns, can helpindicate the down-to-earth nature of a Mediterranean meal, whilepastels and cool colors can create a more upscale seasideatmosphere. Ornate carpets, candles, urns, iron mirrors and heavywooden furniture can all fit within the Mediterranean style.
