COVERAGE
As part of the Alaska Statewide Digital Mapping Initiative (SDMI), AeroMetric, Astrium GEO-Information Services and their partners, have been actively collecting and processing SPOT imagery over Alaska since May 2009. The new collection is being processed to provide current digital orthophotos that can be immediately usable in GIS, remote sensing and mapping applications, including:

To date, over 645,000 km2 of 2.5-meter panchromatic (Pan) and 10-meter multispectral (MS) data have been collected and processed. The 2.5-meter, orthorectifed, panchromatic, color and false color products created from this data can now be purchased off-the-shelf in 20 km x 20 km tiles.Acquisitions will remain ongoing through 2013, when, for the first time in history, a complete archive of high-quality satellite imagery covering the entire state of the Alaska will be available.
