AL-JAZEERA COAL-TAR EPOXY

A two-component polyamide cured coal tar epoxy .

Recommended to use as a protective coating on steel and concrete surfaces, where extreme corrosion resistance is required. It is specially suitable for under-ground pipes and foundations submerged surfaces splash zone. It can be applied on under water part of the ship and under surface of vehicles.

“Al-Jazeera Coal-Tar Epoxy” has the following features:-Strong protective coating on steel and concrete surfaces.-Excellent adhesion with steel, cement, concrete and galvanized iron.-Excellent resistance to alkali, seawater, sewage water, salty water, crude oil.-Highly flexible.

Remove old paint from surfaces completely and make sure that the surface is clean, dry , free from dust, oil, grease, salt and old paint.Fill the holes and cracks with suitable fillers "Jaz Epoxy Crack Filler ESP" prior to application of the paint. STEEL:The surface should be prepared by abrasive blasting accord-ing to standard Sa2 ½. (ISO 8501-1:1988) to have a proper roughness and cleanness (40-70 µ).CONCRETE -All new surfaces must be cured at least for 30 days prior to application of the primer. -The surface must be treated by removing all forms release and protrusions to get a suitable surface for application. -Remove old paint from surfaces completely.

THINNER:

1.The surface must be removed from dust , grease, oil and other contaminants completely.2.The surface must be treated by removing all forms release and protrusions to get a suitable surface for application. 3.Surface temperature required during application must not be less than 10°C; the surface moisture should not exceed 8% and the relative humidity at work place not to exceed 70%.4.Maximum pH of 9 for concrete surfaces .5.Make sure that, base paint and hardener are mixed uniformly.6. A suitable quantity of “Al-Jazeera Thinner 505” can be added to get reasonable viscosity for application. 7.The mixed paint should be used within pot-life.8.Do not apply the next coat unless the previous one is fully dry, minimum recoating interval time should be given between the two coats.

By volume: Base Hardener 3 : 1

6 hours at 25°C. (After mixing).

20-30 minutes after mixing the base and hardener.

Apply two coats of " Al-Jazeera Coal Tar Epoxy" as a primer and finish directly.

Recommended thinner is “Al-Jazeera Thinner 505”.

Clean up: Use "Al-Jazeera Thinner 505" for tools cleaning and in case of spillage, absorb and dispose.Handling: Handle with care. Stir very well before use. Health and safety: Please read and follow the precautionary notices displayed on the container, and all caution statements on the MSDS of this product. During application of paint, contact of liquid paint with eyes, skin, inhalation of paint mist and paint vapor should be strongly avoided. For spray application systems; applicator should wear protective clothing, gloves, also eye, skin and respiratory protection are always recommended. Keep away from reach of children.

Ventilation: When used in enclosed areas, thorough air circulation must be used during and after application until the coating is cured. In addition, respirators must be used by all applicator.Caution: This product contains flammable solvents, keep away from sparks and open flame. For information on LEL and TLV, please read the MSDS.Environmental safety: Please donate the leftover paint and packaging to your local authorized institution for usage or recycling purpose.Note: Wastes and empty containers should be disposed of in accordance with local regulations made under the Control of Pol lut ion Act and the Environmental Protection Act.
