Welcome to the first curriculum newsletter for 2017/18 outlining what your child will be studying this week at Al Jazeera Academy. We also include in this letter each fortnight some important reminders along with an update on some of the key Secondary School issues in learning and some of the achievements of our young people.

1. Some Key Reminders

• Students must bring their tablets to all lessons. Please ensure that your child has their

tablet with them fully charged at all times.

• Mobile phones are not allowed to be used by pupils in school at any time. If pupils bring them they must be handed in at the start of the day and collected at the end of the day. Phones will be confiscated if pupils are caught with them and parents will be required to come in and collect them.

2. School Events

Last week the Year 11 girls went to the Escape Hunt in Dar Al Salaam Mall. This was to help

build team skills and communication. A productive day was had by all. Many thanks to Ms

Daima, Ms Renee, Ms Amelia and Ms Debbie for supervising the students on this trip.

Pink October, the annual charity fundraising to raise awareness for cancer is now underway

with a variety of activities planned for the month.
