Last Friday, our Year 5/6 Boys’ Football Squad travelled to Harlands to play a set of friendly matches. The matches are always
competitive and played in good spirit. Bolnore played some fantastic football and
it was a good warm up for the upcoming tournament. A massive thank you to Mr Crowhurst and Mrs Lazenby for going to
support the children. Mr Smithson

Ice Art
Year 4 enjoyed using ice as a tool during their art afternoon last week. The children used the ice cubes instead of paintbrushes
and observed the colour of the paint change as the ice began to melt. It was interesting to see the dark colours turn to light as the water
melted into the paint! Miss Stagg
The Twits Play Tricks Year 2 were treated to a visit from Mr and Mrs Twit. The Twits came to show some of the tricks they play on each other, including
serving wormy spaghetti… urghh! (Who knew our teachers were so dramatic!)
As to be expected, the children, staff Governors and whole Bolnore Primary Village School
Community were brilliant during our two day Ofsted Inspection this week. They exemplified all our Core Values and why we are so proud of
our School. The report will be with us in about a month. Mrs Taylor
Coding Challenge Year 3 have been learning all about algorithms and worked together to
make our Spheroes change direction using block coding. We had to learn
about degrees and angles to do this and some of us even managed the Super
Challenge - coding the Sphero to make a triangle shape. Mr Scott
Lewes Castle Year 1 enjoyed a wonderful day at
Lewes Castle, despite the rain! They completed a tour of the different parts,
dressed up as different people who used to live in the castle and particularly
enjoyed climbing the spiral staircase to the top of the keep. They were so
excited to write all about it the next day!
Congratulations to our children who completed the Lidl Mudder (a muddy
obstacle course for children) last weekend. It is a great challenge to complete. Here are
some of the ‘after’ photos!
Last Friday, we held a Whole School Core Value Afternoon. As this half term we are focussing on Respect, the children joined together with other classes to further explore this important
value. They played circle games to get to know each other, discussed the idea of community, thought about what makes a community great and finished by making signs that make sure
everyone is welcomed into our Community. The children spoke confidently about how we celebrate similarities and differences and how much they enjoy being part of our School
Community.
Be kind, be
respectful and try
to make the world
a better place.
Alfie, Year 6
There is only one more week to the Quiz
Night. You can still get tickets by emailing
We also need more donations of bottles
for one of the raffle prizes, ‘The
Wheelbarrow of Booze.’ Please bring
donations to the School Office.
We are in need of extra Lego for our new
after school Lego Club. If you have any
unwanted bricks or sets, please bring
them to the Office or Cherry Class.
A community is a whole bunch of people who work
together and help each other no matter what. They
are pieces of a puzzle. Zach, Year 5
Everyone is special in their
own way. Orla, Year 2
A school is a
community
because we all
work together.
Reuben, Year 3
