CMD COSTRUZIONI MOTORI DIESEL SINCE 1989 CMD is formally set up. Company is involved in marine engines and machining sectors production and distribution.
CMD becomes an important player in automotive sector for high precision parts and components, becoming leading supplier of the biggest international groups like FIAT (now FCA), ALFA-ROMEO, AUDI-VW and FORD.
Company progressively expands its business by opening 2 new production plants in Atella 2 (PZ), ensuring a larger production line for diesel inboard andin/outboard marine engines and machining sector.
CMD begins to work on an important and innovative project related to General Aviation, whose main characteristics lie on reliability and excellent flight performance. In the same year, a new production plant is opened in Morra de Sanctis (AV).
CMD sets up its headquarters and engines production line in S. Nicola La Strada (CE).
CMD is selected by Italian Stock Exchange to join the Elite Program, a program of support for private companies seeking expansion and access to the capital markets and aimed at identify the most promising
Italian SME. Elite Program has been successfully completed in November 2014.
Loncin Motor Co. Ltd and CMD became business partner. Loncin Motor Co Ltd is a Chinese multinational company operating in engine technology for automotive, industrial and aerospace industry.

ELECTRONIC ENGINE MANAGEMENT
ELECTRONIC CONTROL FOR AIRCRAFT ENGINE (FADEC)
CMD, global leading manufacturer in design and production of internal combustion engines, provides solutions for Electronic Engine Management.
A team of electronics engineers with experience in the field of the electronic engines control in HW and FW design, has
implemented, for more than 15 years, different ECUs (Engine Control Unit) to manage diesel and gasoline engines.
CMD offers competitive products addressing and covering customer’s requirements with the most advanced control techniques for combustion processes (diesel, gasoline, CNG, LPG).
The close cooperation with leading semiconductors companies, such as Infineon, STMicroelectronics, etc. leads CMD customers to have the most innovative platforms and solutions on the market.
V model based software development, compliant with DO178-C
CMD control unit (FADEC) controls aircraft engines for General Aviation, both gasoline and diesel. The FADEC provides the capability to control the fuel quantity depending on engine operating conditions. The power set point is determined through the power lever. FADEC is equipped with a primary system and a backup system, each having independent connections to main engine’s sensors. CMD FADEC detects engine faults and provides fault accommadation strategies through alternate modes or a backup system.The embedded software part of the systems is internally developed according to the
RTCA/DO-178C guidelines at the applicable DAL (B or C) while the Airborne Electronic Hardware is developed according the RTCA/
DO-254 guidelines as applicable. Environmental and EMC tests are conducted in accordance with the RTCA/DO-160G standard.

PROJECT SAMPLE
• CMD has certified CMD22 gasoline engine according to EASA CS22 subpart H. CMD22 ECU has been developed by electronic CMD engineers and qualified according to DO-160G.• CMD is certifying the GF56 diesel engine according to EASA CS-E. The GF56 Electronic Engine Control System (EECS) is a typical Common Rail System.
ENGINE CALIBRATION ENGINE WIRINGThe calibration of diagnostic and control parameters of the ECU and the reprogramming is performed in real-time.
Definitely, the calibration is one of the most delicate phases of the engine development requiring methods and instruments necessary to create a solid product and the efficiency of the trials.
CMD, thanks to own test benches and experienced calibration engineers, is able to offer a complete solution for the engines development. CMD represents the right solution for those manufacturers who wants to achieve emission norms limits updating old mechanical engines with an electronic control system.
CMD is also involved in cable design and construction for engines, always offering the best solution for all the engine’s cabling requirements.
