Connecting to the compressed air system

CAUTION

The supply line must be fitted with a suitable stopvalve to allow the jack system to be cut off from theworkshop system in case of maintenance or workon the machine not directly related to normal use.

It is also essential to use a filter-regulator unitcomplete with pressure gauge and air lubricator up-stream of the air hydraulic jack in order to optimizethe jack’s performance.

Page 42: AIR HYDRAULIC JACKS - ARIHetra Service Manuals/Floorjacks...Edition 11/03 AIR HYDRAULIC JACKS air hydraulic jack model WS-02300 USE AND MAINTENANCE MANUAL 7.020.0385 AUTOMOTIVE …

Installation 6

page 2

The compressed air supply line must also be fittedwith a suitable stop valve to allow the jack systemto be cut off from the workshop system in case ofmaintenance or other work on the machine.

In order to allow the jack to operate correctly, thepressure of the compressed air supply line mustalways be 143-157 p.s.i.; at lower pressures thejack’s lifting capacity is proportional to the pressure,while at higher pressures the relief valve (see point3.5 fig. 3.3 item 7) will stabilize it on the nominalvalues without damaging the system.The machine should therefore be supplied from apoint on the compressed air line as close as possibleto the compressor (max. 788"), or if this is notpossible, a small accumulation reservoir should beinstalled immediately upstream of the filter-regulatorunit.

Make sure that the compressed air supply providedby your system satisfies the machine’s consumptionlevels (110 gallons/min.).

fig.6.2

1

CAUTION

- connect the compressed air supply line to thefemale 1/4" NPT connection on the machine (1,fig. 6.2);

- supply the pneumatic system and set the pressureat between 143 and 157 p.s.i.;

- adjust the quantity of oil while air passes throughthe lubricator of the filter-regulator unit at a valueof 2-3 drops per minute.
