Confirming various telegrams sent you today in con
junction with Mr Sill, s.a.’’KAISER” docked at noon today and the
orew ia being repatriated to Hamburg via Grimsby, leaving Edinburgh
Waverley Station by the ten a rm. train tomorrow to Join steamer
leaving Srimeby for Hamburg tomorrow night.
Mr Sill is accompanying the orew to Grimsby tomorrow.

board the S.S."Accrington" at G-imsby on the 8th instan$
at 8 p.m., the railway arrangements made by you were per
fect in every wap.
T h e representative of the Sreat 0entrai Pailway
at Srimeby informed ma that the special rates as paid by the
the Ministry of Shipping- for returned German Crews from
Ori-nstjy to Hamburg are M^'per head for Officers ana £3.10/-
per head for the Grew including food on passage and they
prefer rendarlni- the account direct to the league for
settlement.
I now await youraaocount for expanses at Leith when
a cheque will be sent you in due course.

We are glad to aee from your letter of 10th inst. that
the officers ana orew of this steamer duly embarked on board
a. a. "ACCRINGTON" at Grima by at 8 p.m. on the 8th inat.
?/e are pleaaed to hear that the arrangeante made by ua
worked aatiafaotorily.
With regard to the fares, we note that the Great Central
Railway at Grimaby prefer to deal direct with you aa regarda paseage
money and that the rates named inolude food. You will obaerve,
however, that the offioera and orew were provided with food to take
them to Hamburg, and that therefore some abatement in the rate ahould
be allowed in lieu of food for the sea passage.
The aooount for expenses at Leith is being made out, and
we hope to send yon same in the oourse of a post or two.

There were no Deck Ltores or Provisions left on arrival.
Messrs. Cormack & Co. arranged a sufficient supply of
provisions for the two days in port and the train journey to
«46r.RU ■Grimsby^ At 6 a.m. on the 8th March the crew were ordered
ashore consisting of ficers,a** 47 men,and taken^ under the
charge of two Police officers, to Waverley Station, Edinburgh,
in two Motor Char-a-bancs, their baggage in two Motor Lorries.
Special carriages were arranged and to save delay they were
connected on to the different lines at York, Doncaster and
Grimsby Stations to the Grimsby Dock.
The crew embarked on the E .S."Accrington" at ti p.m. on
the 6th I arch and s;iled immediately.
The Great Central Railway has a special rate for the trans.
port of German crews from Grimsby to Hamburg arranged with the
Ministry of Ship ing, viz:- £6;,per head for officers and £3.10/
per head for the crew including f od on passage .and this rate
• ill also apply in this case.
