� Every day of school, I have an amazing opportunity towork with young agriculturists. In my position as a highschool agriculture teacher, I educate students in theareas of agriculture with an emphasis on science, math,and reading. I grew up on a family farm and was highlyinvolved in the local 4-H. I also grew to love theNational FFA Organization. My high school agricultureinstructor motivated me to pursue a career inagricultural education.

� I believe a successful and rewarding highschool agriculture program revolves around effectiveclassroom instruction, supervised agricultureexperience (SAE), and FFA. My responsibilities asa teacher are to provide activities in theclassroom that generate an interest in agricultureand to encourage students to ask questions and

explore.I create lessons thatmeet the needs of students andthe local community. I supervise andmaintain the agriculture shop facility and greenhouse. Iprovide opportunities for students to participate andinteract with others through FFA activities. I helpstudents explore different areas of agricultural interest,and I encourage them to continue to learn from theirmistakes and successes while keeping their SAErecord books.

� I believe teaching is a rewarding career. I hopeto prepare my students to become better citizenswithin our society and help them to focus on theirpurpose in life.
