For a positive end-user experi- ence, this type of UE needs to transi- tion smoothly between these tech- nologies while maintaining acceptable performance for different applications. While conformance test is necessary, it is not sufficient to determine the user experience under different circum- stances. As a result, developers and operators are increasing their focus on testing the real-world performance of UE before deploying them on live networks. The new Agilent Technologies N5978A automation scripts implement TD-LTE IOT test plan in Agilent’s interactive functional test (IFT) software. Used in conjunction with Agilent PXT wireless communications test set, the solution brings real-world network test sce- narios into the lab environment.

Mobility Today,mostTD-LTEdevicessupportfourmodes(GSM,TD-SCDMA,LTEFDD,andLTETDD)orfivemodes:(GSM,W-CDMA,TD-SCDMA,LTEFDD,andLTETDD).MobilitytestisrequiredtoverifytheUEbehavesasexpectedwhentransitioningbetweendifferentradioaccesstechnologies.Mobilitytestincludescellselection/reselection,intra-LTEmobility,inter-RATmobility,androamingtest.

TheAgilentTechnologyE5515Cwire-lesstestsetisrequiredwhen2Gor3Gcellsareinvolvedduringthemobilitytest.

Data throughput CustomershavehigherexpectationsandaremoreawareofthedataperformanceoftheirwirelessdevicesintheLTEera.Datathroughputtestverifiestheactualend-userexperienceunderdif-ferentchannelconfigurationsandradioconditions,helpingtoaddressthedataperformanceearlyinUEdevelopment.
