Steve Burrows started as a sole trader in 2002 with one 8x4 grab lorry, over the years Steve grew the company to the extent it is today. Blockade now operates two quarries, an inert recycling close to Gatwick Airport and a restoration facility with its own rail head. From these facilities we produce our own primary and recycled aggregates as well as covering our own landfill requirements.

Blockade Services is now one of the largest tipper and quarrying operators south of the M25. We are moving from strength to strength investing in several new Lorries and plant equipment, giving our clients the confidence that the products and services we provide are second to none.

We supply 8 wheeled tippers for removing or delivering materials from your site.

All of our tippers are euro 5/6 vehicle CAD are fully FORS compliant. All drivers are experienced in their field and all hold CSCS cards. All our vehicles are also tracked and radio controlled.

Using our extensive fleet we can service your sites 24-7. Our vehicles work on two sites per day covering the construction industry in the day and servicing the road resurfacing industry by night.

GRAB HIREOur grab Lorries are all euro 6 vehicles with extra-long reach cranes. The carrying capacity is 17 tonnes/13m3. All of our drivers are very experienced with the relevant certification needed to operate these Lorries.

We provide a professional and reliable waste disposal service from the small domesticcustomers to blue chip companies.

All of our Lorries are FORS compliant and available for hire 24/7.

We are able to dispose of any construction waste including-

-Soil & Stone.-Concrete.-Tarmac.-Hardcore.-Utility Waste.-Green Waste.

Our Grab Lorries are also available for day work on your sites with an operator.

Areas Covered...

Blockade Services provides a dedicated service using our low loader to ensure your equipment arrives on site and on time. This means at the end of the contract we can remove plant quickly.

Our STGO Cat 2 low loader can carry up to 54 tonnes, providing an efficient service of transporting heavy, wide and abnormal loads across the UK. Our time can organise Police and highways notifications and we also have our own vehicles for escorting wide loads.

Our experienced and competent drivers are fully conversant with the handling of heavy plant equipment. Our extendable bed trailers enable us to move multiple machines in the same journey, providing you, the customer with huge savings. Our vehicle is satellite tracked and can be contacted at any time by mobile phone or PC. This system also tracks the speed in which the vehicle is traveling and its estimated time of arrival.

Our Low Loaders are available day or night on a fixed price or per hour basis.

Blockade operates two quarries producing several primary aggregates to supply to the construction and equestrian industries. All materials we produce are fully certified and credited.

We carry out the quarrying works using our own plant including; Crushers, Screeners, Excavators up to 50 tonne, Loading Shovels and Dump Trucks operated by our own operators.

All sites are equipped with weighbridges giving our customers the piece of mind they getting the correct tonnage of martial they are charged for.

Blockade is a firm believer in recycling.

We operate two sites which are fully permitted to recycle demolition, construction and rail waste. We have one site close to Gatwick Airport and another in Godstone, Surrey which has a live rail head attached that enables us to service the construction and rail industry.

All of our recycled materials we produce are produced to the WRAP protocol and subjects to rigorous testing guaranteeing our customers to a high quality material and also cutting down our waste to landfill figures.

Our recycling is carried out using our own Crushers, Screeners, Excavators and Loading Shovels.

Blockade carry out demolition works arranging from small garage blocks to large factory complexes.

All demolition and site clearance is carried out using our own plant and operators. All materials generated are recycled where possible. We work very closely with our clients to bring their projects on budget and on time.

demolition & stite clearence

A large part of our business is servicing the highways infrastructure work, we supply up to 20 tipper Lorries per night. Planning, as well as having worked on many large road infrastructure projects including; M25 J 6-2 and A21 Pembury bypass. For this we supplied screening and crushing plant to remove, also process material on site for infrastructure. Our main customer being Balfour Beaty.

We have yards at Junction 6 on the M25 with 24 hour access and the capacity to store thousands of tonnes of plainings ready for recycling.

All of our vehicles are fitted with reversing cameras, easy sheets, chevrons, front and rear xenon’s.

All our drivers are CSCS card holders. Our Services-

Highway Works

Blockade are specialist earthworks contractors south of the M25.

All of our previous contracts have been completed on time and on budget. All of our plant is operated by highly trained plant operators and all contracts are managed by experienced earthworks supervisors.

Blockade works for many quarry operators in the south east as well as operating quarries of our own. All of our plant is modern and highly maintained giving us the reliability needed to complete on time.
