There is a story of Suvorov (great Russian commander, prince) and Kulibin (inventer, petty bourgeois) meeting at Potyomkin`s big party: When Suvorov saw Kulibin at the opposite part of the room he went to him hastely, stopped in a few steps, swept him a low bow and said:- To Your Worship! Then, going one step closer to Kulibin, he bowed lower and said:- To Your Honour!Finally, coming close to Kulibin, he bowed at the waist and added: - To Your Wisdom is my respect! Then he took Kulibin`s hand and asked him about his health. Turning to the meeting, Suvorov said:- God mercy us, it is a grand mind! He will invent a magic flying carpet for us!

To Rostislav Alexeyev

In summer of 1957 Alexeyev presented “The Rocket” to the world, having brought the boat to Moscow during the International festival of youth and students. That moment gave the start to high-speed shipbuilding in the world. Speed-boats “The Volga”, “The Meteor”, “Kometa” (The Comet), “The Sputnik”, “Burevestnik” (The Petrel), “Voskhod” (The Sunrise) – a new project every year and each of them is the best. In the early-70s the central design bureau on hydrofoils got an order on building a landing ground-effect machine – “Orlyonok” (The Eaglet). On November 3d, 1979 the world`s first landing ground-effect boat was accepted as a tactical unit in the Navy.
