- e.g. schools, residential homes, community events • Different engagement delivery methods

- e.g. qwizdom, focus groups, questionnaires

Intergenerational Project

Aims and Objectives

• Consult on policing and crime and disorder issues

• Improve feeling of community safety• Reduce fear of crime• Challenge stereotypes which may exist

between people of different generations • Improve relationships between the community

and the police

How?

• Young and older people of different generations from the same geographical area

• Community setting• Safe environment• Share experiences• Learn from others• Interactive day with fun exercises

• In small groups each person write a single word on a post-it note which describes the following groups…

• Police - e.g. protect people, hard job, necessity, overworked, waste of time

• Hoodie- e.g. trendy, misunderstood, comfy, chilled, disrespectful, criminals

• Older person- e.g. nanna, mature, need help, wise, vulnerable, always ill
