The Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU) in its 50th Anniversary Solemn Declaration, while acknowledging past successes and challenges, rededicated itself to the continent’s development and technological transformation. The AU Summit mandated the Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC) in collaboration with the UN Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the NEPAD Agency to develop Agenda 2063 through a people-driven and extensive consultation process.
