AENG 352: Project 1 “Beyond Style” This project was about designing from the perspective of a contemporary architect by being inspired by his ideas and not copying his work without understanding the concept. I have chosen the Swiss Architects “HERZOG AND DE MEURON” as I was interested to know how they come up with various designs and new interesting style all the time. After the research, a house for a chosen user group in a water‐front site (Red Sea) was to be designed. I have chosen to design a vacation house for a family of passionate photographers on a natural bay in Sharm El‐Sheikh focusing on the natural experience of the users inside their own house for a relaxing and appealing mood to take photos. Like Herzog and de Meuron I was inspired by the construction materials used in Sinai like bamboo huts and rough stone construction. The following pictures show the final model evolving progress with plans, sections and elevations!
