You’ll have plenty of time to stroll the beach and explore the surrounds, relax by the jetty or take a dip in the clear blue waters.

A paradise for nature lovers and snorkelling enthusiasts alike, Yanks Jetty located at the southern end of Orpheus Island is nestled in a sheltered bay and was originally a degaussing station for American submarines in WWII.

The colourful fish species & large coral bommies that reside in these waters offer some of the region’s most diverse marine wonderlands.

Yanks Jetty, Orpheus Island is everything an island escape should be... Rocky headlands, spectacular fringing reefs & unspoilt National Park all situated in a sheltered bay in the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area.

ONCE YOU ARRIVE... The afternoon is yours (approx. 3 hours)

to laze on the beach or jetty, cool off and explore spectacular fringing reefs or take part in some beach fun – BYO beach toys or borrow ours for the day.

A snorkelling area is defined for your safety & ease of underwater exploration with access from the jetty or beach. Our snorkel crew will provide snorkelling instructions and set you on your way to find some hidden gems beneath the surface.

The SeaLink vessel remains alongside the jetty and is accessible throughout the day for use of the toilets or a cold drink. Undercover seating is also available on the jetty.

Yanks Jetty is surrounded by National Park, therefore, there are no facilities on the island. SeaLink has a licensed bar on-board for light snacks & drink purchases (all liquor must be consumed on-board). Complimentary tea & coffee is also available.

The journey to Orpheus Island is all part of the experience. Embark on a 1hr 45 min scenic cruise as you pass through, and learn about, the Palm Island Group. Keep an eye out for the majestic Humpback Whale (mid-July – August) and enjoy a delicious lunch before you arrive at Yanks Jetty.

CAPE CLEVELAND LIGHTHOUSE TOUR

Experience a half-day tour to one of the region’s most sought-after destinations. Cape Cleveland Lighthouse was the first lighthouse to be built in Townsville back in 1879. The isolation and beauty of this part of North Queensland is just as striking as it was in the early years.

This informative tour of Townsville’s history commences with a journey across Cleveland Bay taking in spectacular views along the way (approx. 40 minutes). On arrival to Cape Cleveland you will be taken ashore by barge, from there you can take the walk up to the lighthouse and enjoy historical displays with past and present residents.

Spend your time taking in the natural beauty that Cape Cleveland has to offer. After an afternoon of exploration, enjoy drinks and nibbles as we watch the sunset over Townsville and Magnetic Island on our return journey.

Passengers travelling from Magnetic Island will receive a free return transfer to make their way to Townsville prior to the tour. Tickets are available for collection from the Nelly Bay office on your day of travel.

If you have any special dietary requirements/allergies, please contact our sales team no later than 48 hours prior to departure on (07) 4726 0800. Where possible we will endeavour to meet your request.

Please notify SeaLink with the names of all passengers travelling in the booking, including infants. If there are any changes to your booking prior to departure (including name changes or cancellations) please contact us with this information.

Pricing is correct at time of printing, however all rates are subject to change.

Tours and itinerary are subject to prevailing weather and sea conditions including tides, wind, swell and rain. The vessel master will determine the most appropriate course on the day of travel.

Cancellation of a booking or part thereof will incur the following fees:

• Between 14 days and 48 hours before departure – 20% of total cost

• Between 24 hours to 48 hours before the tour – 50% of total cost

• Within 24 hours of departure – 100% of total cost

All transfers to another NQA Tour up to 24 hours before departure incurs a $10pp rebooking fee (subject to availability). Any difference in price is payable by the passenger. All tours cancelled by SeaLink due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances are eligible for transfer to another tour or a full refund. A ‘no show’ will incur 100% penalty. No refunds are given on unused tickets.

Each year the waters surrounding Townsville, Magnetic Island & The Palm Island Group come alive with the annual migration of the majestic Humpback Whale.

These amazing mammals love playing in the warm waters of the Great Barrier Reef and migrate every year to feed, mate and give birth before returning south with their calves.
