Page 11: adventa india ltd

Current Feeding Practice Average cattle requires 25 Kg to 50 kg of Green and Dry fodder

Vs Current Average cattle feeding 5.5 Kg to 6 Kg

Dairy farmer depends on only milking cattle and ignoring dry and

heifers

80% of fodder depends on Crop residue and low nutrient fodders

Available fodder average protein is below 6% and 43%

digestibility.

Low palatability and low metabolisable energy are the main

concerns in current available fodders

Fodder availability, dependency on 1 crop and low focus on

seasonal forage crops.

Page 12: adventa india ltd

Effects of low nutrient diet

1. Long Dry Period

2. Short lactation period

3. Sickness and mismatching heating period

4. Low Milk Productivity and Quality milk

5. Low body weight and unhealthy calving

6. Low resistance to Diseases

7. Short life span

8. High dependency on concentrates and nutrition

Page 13: adventa india ltd

Need of Good Fodder

• Although India is No. 1 in milk Production, very low in Productivity

• Annual milk yield per dairy animal in India is about one tenth of that achieved in the USA and about one fifth of the yield of a grass-fed NewZealand dairy cow.

• For Low Milk production cost

• High milk yield with long lactation days

• Timely calving with healthy calf

• To maintain resistance to common pest and diseases

• To develop adoptability to the seasons and temperature

• High yielding with low cost of cultivation

Page 14: adventa india ltd

What is Quality Fodder

The ability of a forage to meet an animals nutritional

requirements.

Because of this, when we discuss forage quality we identify what

factors may be limiting the ability of our forage to supply the

required nutrients.

Fodder should be high in palatibility and digestability

It has to be higher yielder in lesser area of cropping

It should be good for all the soils and adoptable for all the seasons

Fodder should be suitable for wet and dry feeding

Page 15: adventa india ltd

Advanta - Products• With the global dairy industry ramping up, and new processing

technology introduction, dairy industry is becoming very good profitable business.

• Indian dairy industry is lacking of nutritional dietary through that leads to low milk productivity.

• Advanta is one of the leaders in forage crops globally.

• India we have introduced high nutritional forage crops like JUMBO, NUTRIFEED, and SUGARGRAZE for green feeding and silage feeding.

• Advanta forages are very good in palatability, Digestibility andwith very high protein.

• The adoptability is very good across India and suitable for all the seasons. Our forage crops are drought tolerance and very high bio-mass yielder.

Jumbo Vs SSG

• Seed Treatment • Seed Quality with ISTA

certification• Late Flowering – 78 to 85 days• Long harvesting Window• High Protein – 16%• Sweet Stems, High

palatability• High in leaf, stem ratio• High in digestibility – 58%• Highest in metabilisable

energy – 9.8%• 3 to 5 cuts with consistency in

yield• Suitable for Silage

• Only Pigment• Poor quality of seed

– Low Germ, Vigor• Early Flowering• Limited Harvesting Window• Low Protein – 7% to 11%• No sweetness, low palatability• Low leaf, stem ratio• Low digestibility – 45%• Low Energy – 8.2%• 1 to 2 Cuts• Mainly for direct feeding

Page 18: adventa india ltd

Nutrifeed

Agronomy

Soil:-Fodder crops can be grown well on a wide range of soil typesSoil pH should be 5.5 to 7.0, Avoid acidic and saline soilsWater & Irrigation:-Nutrifeed is tolerant to drought but should irrigate before 7 days of harvesting. Furrow irrigation will boost the healthy and expected bio-mass. For higher yield and nutritional values adequate irrigation is required in 10 to 12 days interval.Sowings:-Although Nutrifeed is comparatively easy to establish, prepare good seedbed for good germination and root developmentSowing depth 3cm to 5 cm with soil covering for compactionRow to Row Spacing is 30 cms and Plant to Plant is 15 cms

Sowing Type:-

Page 33: adventa india ltd

Irrigation before or after sowing:-

Irrigate the field before and after sowing for better germination and healthy establishment of crop.

Sowing time:-

Spring – Feb to April; Kharif – May to July ; Rabi – February to March

Seed rate:-

Nutrifeed - 3 Kg per Acre

Spacing:-

Nutrifeed spacing is row to row 30 cm X plant to plant 15 cm

Fertliser:-

• Fertiliser should use according to the soil test results.

• Urea -60 Kg (Top Dressing), DAP - 40 Kg per Acre recommended for Nutrifeed

• Adequate nitrogen will ensure the crop fast growth and quick recovery after cutting.

• Nitrogen has to apply as top dressing only to get optimum benefit.

• Excess nitrogen will leads to high amount on nitrates accumulation in crop as well in milk.

Page 34: adventa india ltd

Insect & Disease Management:-Nutrifeed is Tolerant to pest and Disease.Cutting & Harvesting:-Nutrifeed can cut at feed at any time but 1 meter to 1.2 meter is idle height to get more benefits from green fodder.

Nutrifeed should cut above 6 to 8 inches height from the ground level while harvesting/ cutting which is necessary to get immediate re-growth for multi-cut.

Post Cutting Activities:-Apply adequate Nitrogen and Water for regeneration of fresh leaves and Stems.
