ABOUT THE KEYNOTE SPEAKERRonaldW.PontiusservesastheDeputytotheCommandingGeneral,U.S.ArmyCyberCommand.Inthiscapacity,hemanagesandprovidesstrategicdirectiontoallaspectsofArmyCyberCommandand2ndArmyoperationstoincludeplanning,coordinating,integrating,synchronizingandsupervisingorganizationeffortsfortheconductoffullspectrumCyberspaceoperationstoincludeDoDInformationNetwork(DODIN)operations,DefensiveCyberspaceOperations(DCO)andOffensiveCyberspaceOperations(OCO).PontiusservesasaSeniorAdvisor,providingauthoritativeexpertadviceonallaspectofCyberspaceoperations,forcestructureandorganizationalconcepts,andoverseesstrategicsupportplanningandresourcingstrategytoenabletheArmytoachievetherightmixofcybercapabilitiesforthefuture.

Priortohiscurrentassignment,PontiusservedastheDirectorforCommandandControl(C2)andIntelligence,Surveillance,andReconnaissance(ISR)withintheOfficeoftheUndersecretaryofDefenseforAcquisition,

TechnologyandLogistics(USD(AT&L)),providingfunctionalandacquisitionoversightforallC2andISRprogramsacrosstheDepartmentofDefense(DoD).Priortothis,PontiusservedastheDirectorofExecutiveProgramsattheDefenseAcquisitionUniversitySchoolofProgramManagers.InthiscapacityhementoredseniorProgramManagersandProgramExecutiveOfficersintheartofsuccessfullyleadingandmanagingmajordefenseacquisitionprogramsandmajorautomatedinformationsystems.Priortotheseassignments,PontiushadadistinguishedmilitarycareerintheU.S.ArmySignalCorpswithover26yearsofoperationalandmajoracquisitionassignments.

PontiusholdsaBachelorsofSciencedegreeinElectricalEngineeringandBusinessAdministrationfromCarnegie-MellonUniversity,aMastersofSciencedegreeinBusinessAdministrationfromBostonUniversity,andaMastersdegreeinNationalResourceStrategyfromtheIndustrialCollegeoftheArmedForces,NationalDefenseUniversity.
