Enhanced Processing

§  Exploits how data is acquired

§  Spatial frequency of noise from acquisition different from spatial frequency of geologic signal

§  Enhancements are achieved by designing filters to remove acquisition noise while retaining geologic signal

Long Wavelength Augmentation

Long Wavelength Gravity - sGrav

§  First commercial strapdown gravimeter

§  Able to acquire quality data in typical Falcon survey conditions –  Drape flying –  Moderate levels of turbulence

§  No moving parts

§  Small, light weight and simple installation

FTG Plus

FTG Plus development

•  A new FTG Plus non-rotating accelerometer architecture

•  Under development at Lockheed Martin

•  Seeks to provide sub-Eö airborne performance. •  Performance goals for FTG Plus are 0.25 E ö↑2 /

Hz over a pass band from 0.1 mHz to 1.5 Hz (5 Hz)

! sensor noise so low as to be irrelevant

Summary

§  Falcon Plus – Halves the noise of the standard Falcon technology

§  Full Spectrum Falcon –  Enhanced processing reduces acquisition noise

–  Improves resolution for line spacing up to 200m – Decreases noise power for line spacing greater than 250m

–  sGrav provides long wavelength gravity §  FTG Plus

–  20 times more sensitive, 10 time more resolution
