The Advanced Coaching Academy is an accredited online

educational platform designed for health and itness professionalsaround the world.

The Advanced Coaching Academy is split into three modularcourses, BUSINESS ACUMEN, APPLIED NUTRITION and

ADVANCED COACHING all of which are designed be studied in your own time, simultaneously or as individual courses.

Content is delivered weekly and designed to give coaches thetheoretical and practical knowledge required to operate highly

successful itness businesses.

The ACA content is designed and delivered around the needs of modern day coaches and more importantly the people they serve within their businesses.

The content is sourced and compiled from the best available systematic and research evidence. It has then been through the process of national accreditation, endorsment and recognition through Active IQ and the Chartered Institute for the management of sport and physical activity (CIMSPA).

The Applied Nutrition and Supplementation certiication, an integrated part of the applied nutrition module has also been externally scrutinsed and accredited by the Association for Nutrition (AfN) opportunity to learn with group interaction using our online community.

Given that the ields of business, sports science and nutrition are rapidly evolving, content is constantly added, updated and delivered to all active members. Material is designed to be completed alongside full-time work and optimised for both practical and immediate application ensuring practitioners are constantly getting the best from the people they currently deal with.

All of the modular content is delivered via a state-of-the-art online learning platform, presented in a logical, linguistic, visual and audible mediums to ensure an individuals own learning style is catered for.The platform and support groups also enable solitary or social learners to work alone using self study or gives the opportunity to learn with group interaction using our online community.

BUSINESS ACUMEN COURSE

COURSE DESCRIPTION

The Coaching Academy includes an extensive business course covering all aspects of operating a health and itness business in order to help coaches develop long term, sustainable and proitable business models.

The Business Acumen course is designed to improve an individuals understanding of their own business, how to enhance it’s moving parts, scale it beyond its core offering and create a vehicle for improving it’s overall inancial performance.

MODULE 1 BUSINESS STRATEGY

This module is designed to increase your knowledge and understanding of strategic management and strategic issues within your business. It will introduce you to a range of contemporary issues commonly encountered within your organisation and teach you how to build and develop dynamic strategies to deal with these issues.

MODULE 2 BUSINESS FINANCE

The inance module introduces you to business formation and the inancial responsibilities of your organisation. It addresses both inancial and time management, investment and the all important budgetting decisions within your business.

MODULE 3 SALES AND MARKETING

Sales and Marketing is an essential part of the success of any business. Module three looks at how we appeal to our key demographics and how to communicate effectively with them. It addresses the retention of clients and the overall value placed on offerings across the business. How we upsell and scale our current business offerings to ensure lifetime business growth.

MODULE 4 LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT

Module four serves to enhance your leadership and management skills exploring a wide range of key topics that will enhance your knowledge, skills and

project effectiveness, including leadership styles, organisational cultures, staff development, teamwork, and management research.

MODULE 1 INTRODUCTION TO APPLIED NUTRITION

This module introduces you to the key aspects of working in the ield of nutrition and how to both interpret and apply academic research to your practices.

MODULE 2 FUNDAMENTALS OF NUTRITION

This module is designed to familiarise you with the molecular basis of human metabolism and physiology within the context of health, aesthetic and performance improvements. This fundamental knowledge establishes a base from which you can begin to understand and apply more advanced nutritional practices.

MODULE 2 DIETARY COMPLIANCE AND BEHAVIOURAL

PSYCHOLOGY

Module three explores the behaviours, habits and psychology surrounding nutritional intake and dietary intake. It addresses key aspects of dietary compliance and behavioural change allowing you, the coach to both assess an individuals readiness for change and how to then programme accordingly and effectively.

MODULE 4 NUTRITIONAL PROGRAMMING

Systematic approaches to nutrition are ever present in todays nutritional landscape. Module four explores popular dietary systems, dietary and client assessment, concurrent programming and also introduces you to effective dietary supplementation.

MODULE 5 ADVANCED NUTRITIONAL THEORY

Advanced Nutritional theory moves deeper into the metabolicand endocrine responses to nutrition. Having a solid theoretical understanding of these responses assists practioners in understanding the adaptive responses to both nutritional intake and exercise.

MODULE 6 SPECIAL POPULATIONS

Module six covers the principles of nutrition in relation tospecial populations. This module allows you to differentiatebetween conditions that need referral and specialisedservices and conditions that can be addressed within yourrecognised scope of practice.

MODULE 7 PERFORMANCE NUTRITION

This module focuses on the key principles of sports nutritionand exercise performance, including the latest researchpapers. It assists the coach in applying critical awarenessacross the broad remit of sports nutrition with considerationof environmental factors and ergogenic aids.

The Applied Nutrition module is packed with evidence based modular content covering all aspects of applied nutrition, performance nutrition and weight management.

The core content is externally scrutinised and accredited by Active IQ and CIMSPA and the 16 week integrated Applied Nutrition and Supplementation Certiication is certiied by the AfN (Association For Nutrition) and is one of only a few AfN certiied courses in the leisure industry.

The Applied Nutrition and Supplementation Certiication is NOT a self certiied course like many of the other similar courses currently available in the industry. The certiication also acts as a pre-requisite to the fantastic ISSN Diploma should you wish to pursue further nutritional certiication.

The Advanced Coaching course breaks down all of the elements required for a coach to be delivering effective, sustainable and results based programs.

The course addresses human anatomy, biomechanics, human physiology, energetics andbrings it all together within the training theory and practice modules.

MODULE 1 MUSCLE PHYSIOLOGY AND ENERGETICS

This module in conjuction with module two is designed to enable you to understand the physiological responses to exercise, control of physiological responses and effects of training on different physiological systems. How the body utilises fuel in different scenarios and how we can inluence this.

MODULE 2 HUMAN ANATOMY

The main aims of this module are to provide you with the knowledge and ability to explore and gain knowledge of human anatomy. Exploring the major systems of the human body, including the musculoskeletal system, the cardiovascular system and the nervous system and how these impact our coaching decisions.

MODULE 3 TRAINING THEORY

The training theory module provides you with the underpinning knowledge required for effective evidence based programming. It explores the theory of exercise selecetion and classiication before moving into its practical application in module four.

MODULE 4 PROGRAM DESIGN

Module four gives you the applied knowledge to structure goal speciic programs relevant to individuals or group coaching. Not only looking at design but also the factors inluencing compliance and the various forms of delivery.

MODULE 5 SPECIAL POPULATIONS

The special populations module addresses the coaching of individuals with speciic conditions or physiological situations. It addressesmusculoskeletal and neuromuscular conditions, aging populations, pre and post natal, the obese, diabetic populations and the coaching of children.

Content Delivery

The ACA delivers all of it’s modular content via a state-of-the-art online learning platform. Content is delivered

systematic research. The ACA team have compiled, analysed and used objective evidence to design and

bring together all of the modular and ongoing content alongside their own experience within their given ields.

Watch and learn from world class practitioners with over a quarter of a centuries experience in their given ields. Learn from sports scientists, doctors, sports dieticians, human bioscientists and many others. The ACA brings some of the greatest mind in their appropriate ields to

constantly deliver new and innovative content.

Applied Evolving Knowledge

Given that the ields of business, sports science and nutrition are rapidly evolving content is constantly added, updated and delivered to all active members. All material is optimised for both practical and immediate application to ensure you’re getting the best from the people you currently deal with.

Fully accredited content

All of the ACA courses and qualiications are nationally accredited and regulated through Active IQ and fully rec-ognised by the Chartered Institute for the management of sport and physical activity (CIMSPA). Each course earning 10 CIMSPA CPD points upon completion.

The Applied Nutrition certiication, an integrated part of the applied nutrition course is externally accredited and scrutinsed by the Association for Nutrition (AfN)

All of the academy content is available globally and is optimised across platforms. To it with a busy coaches lifestyle content can be accessed via desktops, laptops, tablets and mobile devices so learning on the go is never

a problem.

Study at your own pace

There are no time restrictions on studying with the ACA.Delegates can study ongoing for as long as they wish.

After year one simply moving to our monthly access fee gives you access to not only the core content but all

updates and ongoing content.

Online Exams

All of the ACA exams are done online. This allows us to deliver a better global offering and removes the

restrictions imposed by geographical restrictions.

Access to Nutrimen

Enrolment on the Applied Nutrition module includes oneyears free access (£80 subscription normally) to

professional dietary analysis software. The Nutrimensoftware permits you to quickly analyse and break down

dietary intakes. Powered by the McCance databaseNutrimen is arguably the best professional dietary

analysis software out there.

Community Support

All of the coaches in the Academy are invited to join theprivate social media community to share thoughts, ideas,content and also to engage with and meet other like minded and driven individuals.

Flexible Payment Options

The course content of the Academy is available via several payment options to suit your own inances. You can pay upfront for all content, gaining access to all content immediately. Alternatively you can pay in easily managed monthly payments that drip feed the content to you on a monthly basis.

WHO IS THE ACA FOR?

The content within the academy has been designed primarily for health and itness professionals but has also been embraced by those wishing to make more informed decisions relating to their their own business, training or nutrition.

WHEN CAN I START?

You begin the core ACA content from the moment you sign up. The one exception is the intergrated Applied Nutrition and Supplementation Certiication. Due to the way in which this is delivered certiication has an intake of only 100 places per month. Typically you will be enrolled to start on the 1st of the proceeding month after you joined. If places aren’t available on that particular intake you’ll be notiied upon joining.

WHAT IF IT’S NOT FOR ME?

The purpose of the academy is to help coaches make a living not to take money off you through bad investments. If you feel the ACA isn’t right for you or you won’t get the value you want from it we’ll gladly refund you within the irst 30 days.

The ACA was made with the sole intention of helping people create a better quality off life for themselves and those around them. Not to take money off them for something that delivers no value.

Taking money off you for something you see of no value is no beneit to the ACA or YOU.

IS IT EVIDENCE BASED?

Yes, the whole of the ACA is evidence based and referenced throughout.

You WILL understandably also get the beneit of our coaches cumulative experience and anything that is our own viewpoint will be apparent but we will make that very clear what is and what isn’t.

WHAT SUPPORT DO I GET?

All members get access to the private Facebook communities to discuss issues, share ideas and be accountable with their own application. Any student is welcome to email us at any time with any queries. We also have a full-time IT team that will be at hand to deal with any technical issues you encounter.

DO I NEED ANY PRE-REQUISITES OR EXPERIENCE PRIOR TO DOING THE ACA?

All of the content begins with the basic and highly valuable fundamentals and progresses right through to more advanced practices in all three ields of study. Due to this, irespective of your educational background the content remains accesible throughout and suitable for everyone.

The intention of the ACA is to teach only that which is of practical use both with clients and personally. It will take that which was perhaps brushed over during your educational foundations and solidify it into a theoretical and practical understanding.

As the content being taught within the ACA is directly related to industry practice, it would be expected that learners looking to apply that knowledge outside of their own personal use have acquired or are in the process of acquiring, at minimum their Level 2 or 3 Personal Training qualiications.

IS IT CERTIFIED?

The core ACA content has been through the process of national accreditation, endorsment and recognition through Active IQ and the Chartered Institute for the management of sport and physical activity (CIMSPA).

The Applied Nutrition and Supplementation certiication, an integrated part of the applied nutrition module has also been externally scrutinsed and accredited by the Association for Nutrition (AfN)

Students who have demonstrated a continued learning path throughout the ACA and provided evidence of ethical and ongoing practice will be offered the chance to become certiied.

Upon completion of any of courses and submission of your inal assessments, you’ll be presented with the ACA Level one certiicate in the relevant ield. Completion of all three modules and the applied nutrition and supplementation certiication you’ll be presented with the prestigous ACA Advanced Level One coach award.

The ACA Certiication not only demonstrates that you have learnt from the best in the industry but it ensures you’ve put that knowledge into practice.
