Known to the High Desert as “The City with Unlimited Possibilities”,

Adelanto was founded in 1915 by E.H. Richardson, the inventor of what

became the Hotpoint Electric Iron. He sold his patent, purchased land, and

planned to develop one of the first master planned communities in

Southern California. While Richardson never fully realized his dream, it was

his planning that laid the foundation for what is currently the City of

Adelanto. It was until 1970 that the City of Adelanto was incorporated and

became the County of San Bernardino’s smallest city.

The City of Adelanto continues to offer opportunity in all areas of

development, with potential of being the major industrial employer in the

area. Adelanto’s retail, industrial, and commercial market will begin to

capitalize on the tremendous opportunities in the Victor Valley. Known as

the “City of Unlimited Possibilities”, Adelanto’s philosophy looks to be well

underway.

Location CITY OF ADELANTO

The City of Adelanto is conveniently located within reach of both

national and international markets, including some of the largest air

services in California. Its location on US Highway 395, in the California High

Desert, 35 miles north of San Bernardino via interstate 15, is providing a

direct link between Baja California and Canada. The city encompass

approximately 52 square miles with its sphere of influence extending to

approximately 77 square miles.

Recreation CITY OF ADELANTO

The City of Adelanto Parks Department is responsible for providing

safe, clean, and appealing outdoor facilities including, park facilities,

landscaping features along major streets and landscaping of City facilities.

The City of Adelanto has several rental facilities available for parties,

meetings, and classes.

The Parks Department manages over 30 acres of developed park

land comprising the City’s 5 parks. The City of Adelanto offers a variety of

outdoor facilities and amenities for your enjoyment: Walking trails, picnic

tables & shelters, barbeques, outdoor basketball courts, horseshoe pits,

and ball fields. Lighted sports fields include one baseball field for teams

from T-ball to High school level and one soccer field.

Parks in Adelanto include: Adelanto Park, Richardson Park,

Howard Loy Park, and Westside Park.

Commercial

Since breaking ground in 2004, Stater Bros. in the Adelanto

Marketplace has seen significant growth. The supermarket chain was the

first business to open in the Center and is still one of the top-performing

stores of the Southern California based grocery chain.

Industrial

With more than 120 companies selecting Adelanto as their place

of business, Adelanto has constructed over 8,200 homes and has provided

4,500 jobs in its five industrial parks.

Northwest Pipe Company, since 1966, has been a leading

manufacturer of welded steel pipe. The company has expanded its

capabilities to become a national presence in the pipe and tube industry.
