Dear colleagues

On behalf of the organising committee, it is my pleasure to invite you to attend the "HumanReproductive Health Through The Ages" Congress being held 7-10 March 2006 at theAdelaide Convention Centre, South Australia.

The congress is being held to celebrate major advances in Reproductive Health from "wombto tomb" and to mark the lifetime contributions to this area of several distinguished andinternationally renowned Adelaide clinicians and scientists. The congress will highlight recentadvances in areas of reproductive health including fertility, human genomics, fetaldevelopment and its influence on adult health, pregnancy, parturition, maternal and infanthealth, cerebral palsy, reproductive endocrinology, contraception, menstrual control,urogynaecology, menopause and healthy ageing.

This is an international congress, which will attract many international delegates and gueststo its plenary sessions and workshops. It will be a festival of reproductive scientists andphysicians presenting the state of the art medicine and science, and will run during the 2006Adelaide Festival of Arts. The scientific program will be integrated with a social programbuilt around the Festival.

This "show piece congress" will present many of the world’s best speakers elucidating thestate of the art of research and practice both for those working in their area and explainingnew advances clearly for those whose reproductive interests are elsewhere. The congresswill highlight the art of reproductive medicine in the State of the Arts during the Festival ofArts! Partners are particularly welcome and will greatly enjoy the second largest Festival ofArts in the world.

A trade exhibition featuring the latest developments in products and services will be held inconjunction with the congress, which is to be held in the newly extended AdelaideConvention Centre on North Terrace.

CANCELLATION POLICY

All cancellations must be notified in writingto the Conference Secretariat. The congressreserves the right to cancel or vary optionalactivities if minimum numbers are notreached. The congress cancellation policy is a50% refund for cancellations made by 14December 2005. No refund will be madeafter this date. Cancellation ofaccommodation must also be notified inwriting and may be subject to cancellationfees from the hotels.

INSURANCE

Registration fees do not include insurance ofany kind. We are aware that many distinguished scientistsand clinicians will be attending the congressand are not on the plenary programme. Tofacilitate the exchange of news of excitingbreaking research delegates are encouraged tooffer tantalising brief details of new researchfrom their department. This session on Thursday9th March 2006 is called "5 Minutes ofExcitement and Fame" where each presenterhas 5 minutes to present their news followed by5 minutes of questions. To allow newunpublished research to be disclosed, withoutcompromising publication, no abstracts shall bepublished. Please offer titles, and a 250-wordabstract (to inform The Organising Committeeonly, not for publication) to the secretariatbefore December 2005.

SATELLITE MEETING

The 38th Annual Meeting of The OrganisationGestosis, an International Society for the Studyof Pathophysiology of Pregnancy, is planned tobe held in Adelaide on the 6th and 7th March2006, immediately before our Womb to TombMeeting from 7-10 March 2006.

The venue for this meeting will be the StamfordPlaza Hotel, which is opposite the main AdelaideConvention Centre and Performing Arts Precinct.

The topics planned to be covered include thefollowing:

• Current clinical management of severe pre-eclampsia (gestosis).

• Current research on the causes of pre-eclampsia, the best methods of assessmentand the possible treatment.

The Weather. Adelaide has a warm dry sunnyclimate in March with day time averagetemperatures of 25-29°C and nights 17-20°C

The Airport is centrally located near the seaand is about a 15 minute taxi ride from the citycentre and the congress hotels.

Time. South Australia is half an hour behindEastern Australian time. Yes half an hour!
