This Addendum forms a part of the Contract Documents and modifies the original Procurement Documents dated

December 14, 2020.

The following is an addition to and modification of the Bidding Requirements and Contract Documents to be

included in and made part of the Specifications and Contract Documents for the Carroll Road Water Main

Extension Project. This Addendum shall become a part of the Contract Documents. Only the items in this

addendum shall be altered; the original Contract Documents shall remain valid in their entirety. Bidders are,

therefore, instructed to take the following into account in rendering any Bid for this work. Acknowledge the

receipt of this Addendum in the space provided in “ARTICLE 3 – BIDDER’S REPRESENTATIONS” of the BID

FORM document.

This Addendum consists of 5 total pages including the following attachments:

• Revised Construction Drawing Sheets dated 1/9/2021 (3 pages)

CHANGES TO PRIOR ADDENDA: NONE

CHANGES TO PROCUREMENT REQUIREMENTS: NONE

CHANGES TO CONTRACTING REQUIREMENTS: NONE

CHANGES TO SPECIFICATIONS:

1. Section 012000 – PRICE AND PAYMENT PROCEDURES

a. DELETE Paragraph 1.11.B and REPLACE with the modified Paragraph 1.11.B, as stated

below. The modified language for this section is shown in bold.

Description: The unit price specified to be paid for installation of 10” diameter HDPE DR-11 pipe

using HDD shall include all material, labor, and equipment to install the watermain per the plans and

specifications. This unit price includes pipe, bore mud, water needed for the installation process,

excavation, bedding, backfill, fittings, restraints, locator wires, warning tape, notifications,

coordination, permit compliance, mobilization, demobilization, testing, disinfection, and other

miscellaneous or incidental work required to perform the work shown on the plans or specified

herein. Hydrostatic pressure testing for Polyethylene (PE) Pressure Pipe shall meet or exceed

minimum requirements set forth in ASTM F2164. Any disturbance or damage to existing

watermain and water service lines will not be paid directly but shall remain the responsibility of the

Contractor to repair, if damaged. The actual number of linear feet of watermain will be measured for

payment under this item. The length of watermain shall be linearly measured from start to finish,

without any reduction in length for fittings. The primary specifications related to this Contract Item

are Technical Specification 330507.13 and City of Lawrence Water Design and Construction

Standards and Specifications.”

2. Section 312317 – TRENCHING

a. DELETE Paragraph 2.1.A-C and REPLACE with the modified Paragraph 2.1.A, as stated

below. The modified language for this section is shown in bold.

As shown on Contract Drawings and in accordance with the City of Lawrence Construction

Specifications and Standards.

3. Section 330110.58 – DISINFECTION OF WATER UTILITY PIPING SYSTEMS

a. DELETE Paragraph 3.1.A and REPLACE with the modified Paragraph 3.1.A, as stated below.

The modified language for this section is shown in bold.

Verify that piping system has been cleaned, inspected and pressure tested. Hydrostatic Pressure

Testing for Polyethylene (PE) Pressure Pipe shall meet or exceed minimum requirements set

forth in ASTM F2164.

CHANGES TO DRAWINGS:

1. Sheet 4 – DELETE Sheet 4 included in Contract Documents dated 12/14/2020 and REPLACE with the

revised Sheet 4 dated 1/9/2021 included in this addendum.
