Sammi was an incredibly active member of the Orient Bulldogs 4-H Club for 9
years. Sammi embodied the ideals of the 4-H Pledge through her efforts in club
activities and the Adair County Fair. Sammi was a relentless leader and
someone her fellow club members looked up to.
All of Adair County feels the a tremendous void left by Sammi. We are grateful
for the time shared with her and will forever cherish the memories and imprint
she left on Adair County 4-H.
The Orient Bulldogs 4-H Club, lead by Heidi Rohrig are planning a memorial in
Sammi’s name. Please check the February edition of the newsletter for updates

4-Hers in ACTION!
The Harrison Hummers 4-H Club held their holiday party on December 8th where they exchanged cookies, played games and took Christmas decorations up to the Stuart Park to help beautify the park for the Christmas holiday.
The Adair County Extension Office, partnered with the Warren Cultural Center to hold the first annual “Sprinkles holiday party” on Saturday, December 21st at the Warren Cultural Center. The 4-6 year old attendees listened to the “Christmas Cookie Sprinkle Snitcher” story and searched the Warren Cultural Center for the “snitcher.” After finding him in the basement, the children brought the sprinkles up-stairs where they decorated Christmas cookies. The morning was ended in the Warren Cultural Center Auditorium where children participated in holiday activities. Makinley Edwards and Taylor and Tucker Rohrig-Sloth volunteered to help make the event possible!
Midwest Heritage Heifer Program
2020 Winner– Makinley Edwards
Congratulations to Makinley Edwards who was named one of this
year’s Midwest Heritage Heifer Program winners. Makinley will
receive 3 bred heifers. Congratulations Makinley and great job on
all of your hard work and preparation to receive this honor!
At the December meeting, Clover Kids went to the Greenfield Rehabilitation Center where they participated in activities with the residents. They did a Lego Challenge, colored an elf, and read a book. The Clover Kids and residents all had a blast! In December, the Youth Council bought presents for a local family through the Adopt-a-Family program. The Youth Council has decided to make this a yearly service opportunity so they can help local families in need during the Holiday season. Members of the Youth Council also read to pre-school students in Adair County. Each preschool student was given the gift of a book they could take home and read with their family.
