THE GIRL / VICTIM

• Amelia will wear a pinafore style dress, typical for a fashionable young woman at in the late 1940s. She will have her hair stylishly pulled back, again to reflect the fashion at the time, as a key element of the opening is to show the time period. The dress will have pale colours so that it stands out with the low key lighting. She will wear little make up to add to her innocent look.

• Amelia is a perfect choice for the actress to play this character as she has the right kind of look to play a young, vulnerable woman in the late 1940s. She also has a small amount of acting experience which will help to make the film more believable and real if it is well acted.

1ST MAN IN STREET

• David will be dressed in a double-breasted suit and fedora hat to suit the time period. The hat will help to cover part of his face to maintain some mystery in the opening. David should be fairly well groomed - clean shaven.

• David will fit this part well because he is around the right age for the character, he also could easily be made to look the part of his character - a small time criminal who gets mixed up in a murder involving the wrong person.

YOUNG BOY

• Edgar will play the part of the young boy, he will be dressed in shorts, a shirt with suspenders. He will be slightly dirty and unclean and give the appearance of rarely having a bed to sleep in. He may also wear a flat cap.

• Edgar will suit this character because he is the perfect age and he has certain qualities that will mean he can easily play a slightly cheeky, naive young boy.

THE “GODFATHER FIGURE”

• The “Godfather figure” will wear a formal dress shirt, trousers and bow tie. In the final the part of his scene this character picks up a jacket as he leaves, for this he will use a black dress jacket. He will have his hair combed back/over and will be well groomed.

• Clive suits this character extremely well in terms of appearance. He is older and therefore his face and greying hair will fit the character he is playing. Clive is supposed to be playing an authoritative, powerful character which I feel he looks right for.

THE KILLER

• The killer will wear a suit also. However he will be more scruffy than the others, for example not necessarily an expensive suit and not clean shaven. Although, he will also give the appearance of someone who does this (killing) fairly often, like it is his job, therefore he must have a sense of confidence even as he murders the girl.

• Simon will suit this character well in terms of appearance as he is the right age and build for the character. He should also have no problem in playing a role where he must look confident even during murder.
