ACTIX SPOTLIGHT POSTPROCESSING
Actix Spotlight is a tool for post processing the TEMS logfiles to identify the areas of optimization
It allows the user to use automated workflow and analysis to investigate, troubleshoot, and report UMTS and HSDPA drive data.
Suitable for large data volumes, it creates a dashboard that highlights certain event types and allows a user to drill down in a specific file without loading it entirely.

Radio network analyses
•Spotlight contains the following UMTS radio analyses :
•Cell coverage analysis (based on scanner and hanset data)
•Missing Neighbors analysis (3G3G, 3G2G)
•Pilot Pollution Analysis (based on scanner and handset data)
24
Adel EL JAZIRI OF/UPR SE 22/04/23
Coverage Analysis
•Determining the coverage for each cell
•Visualizing the best server area for a cell
•Visualizing overshooting areas
•These analyses are avalable both for scanner and handset

Coverage Analysis
26

Coverage Analysis
•The upper window shows the following information :
•Scanner : EcNo, RSCP (max, min, av), >Beamwith, >180° Beamwidth
•Handset : EcNo, RSCP (max, min, av), Link diff (difference between UL and DL pathloss), percentage of coverage issues (system interference, limited coverage, poor UL and DL)
•The left window shows information for a cell by clicking on a line
•Map displays EcNo and RSCP by clicking the line or by selecting a site on the map. The red circle shows the theoritical distance of coverage
•Lateral window shows KPIs and histogramm of distance

Example : Coverage Analysis
•Summary dashboard shows important coverage issues
•Click the link to open the coverage analysis
•The issues window shows a higher system interference rate but the number of samples is too low to get a pertinent analysis. So we add a filter
•Sort the average EcNo by clicking the corresponding icon

Example : Coverage Analysis
•On the map we can see bad quality next to the site

Analysing missing neighbours
•Based on scanner measurements for the sites within an area defined in Tools Display Thresholds Spotlight SL_Overspill_Dist_threshold
•The Cellref must contain the following information : WCDMA NeighborList
•The neighbour list contained in the Cellref is taken into The neighbour list contained in the Cellref is taken into consideration with the potential neighbours detected by the consideration with the potential neighbours detected by the scanner to give addition, removal or retain recommendationsscanner to give addition, removal or retain recommendations
•The upper window shows the number of recommendations. By clicking the line some information are displayed on the lateral window. The neighbours relations are displayed on the map
•The lateral window shows the detail of recommendations. They can be exported to excel format (csv)
33
Adel EL JAZIRI OF/UPR SE 22/04/23
Analysing missing neighbours
•Click Additions to sort by number of missing neighbours
•Click the line to display the information on the map

Adel EL JAZIRI OF/UPR SE 22/04/23
Analysing missing neighbours
•You can use SC Search to find a more appropriate SC if you disagree with the suggestions
•If you agree tick the boxes to select all
36
Adel EL JAZIRI OF/UPR SE 22/04/23
Analysing missing neighbours
•Repeat as much as necessary for each line
•If you agree with the recommendations you can export them to excel format (csv) by clicking Export data

Analysing Pilot Pollution
•Determining the polluters cells (outbound) and the polluting cells (inbound)
•These analysis are avalable both for scanner and handset
•Upper window : number of pilot pollution events for each site and the total number of inbound and outbound cells
•Map : you can display the lines on the map by selecting the site in the line window up
•Lateral window : you can display the detail of the inbound and outbound for the selected cell

Analysing Pilot Pollution
39
Adel EL JAZIRI OF/UPR SE 22/04/23
Example : analysing Pilot Pollution from Scanner data
•From Summary Dashboard, click on Too Many Servers in the lateral window
•Sorting by clicking on Outbound Cells
40
Adel EL JAZIRI OF/UPR SE 22/04/23
Example : analysing Pilot Pollution from Scanner data
•In this example the sector 0433b1 seems to have the most Too Many Servers events, and Outbounds and Inbounds cells
•Deselect Inbound cells to hide them and to show Outbound cells
41
Adel EL JAZIRI OF/UPR SE 22/04/23
Example : analysing Pilot Pollution from Scanner data
•Deselect Outbound cells and tick Inbound cells to hide them and to show Inbound cells
42
Adel EL JAZIRI OF/UPR SE 22/04/23
Example : analysing Pilot Pollution from Scanner data
•Display Outbound cells and EcIo on the map
•We can see that the selected sector pollutes distant sites. So downtilt should be done to solve the issue and to improve the coverage in the surrounding area
