Picture-based activity for reading and writing

This two activities is picture-based activities for English learner. It helps learner to practice reading and writing skills. And it is for learners at intermediate level. They are very beneficial and enjoyable. The first one is about finding the difference between the picture and its description, and the second one is about choosing the sentence that best match with the picture given.

Introduction:

Explanation: In the middle of the class students start get bored and lose concentration. So, after explaining the new vocabulary I use this activity to refresh them, then we continue our lesson. I’ve created this activity because I want to make learning fun, and I just found book’s activities too boring for the student, they never enjoy it. I think this activities are very beneficial because it based on pictures and picture attract students and make them learn more effectively.

Take a few minute to study the pictures, then read the story carefully, try to find the informations that don’t exactly match the picture. Rewrite the story with the correct informations.

My family is a lovely family. It consist of my father whose name is Jan, my mother whose name is Marie, my brother, Petr, my sister Sara, and of course, me. All of us live together in a beautiful big house with my grand-parents. We have a nice white cat that I named it Koki. Last weekend the whole family went to the sea. We enjoyed so much and took this photo there. My little sister looks so gorgeous with her long black heir. It was a wonderful day. We all had so much fun. I just think my family is the best ever.

My neighbor Anne’s life is too boring. Everyday she has the same routine. She wakes up at 7:00 am. She takes her dinner before going to work. Then she goes to work by her private car. At work she takes her lunch with her friend. At night, she come back home and watch TV at 10:15. then she goes to bed. She wakes up next morning and do just the same things!!

Last night, I went to Kate’s birthday party. She threw it in her house and we stayed the whole night enjoying the party in her bedroom. I met a beautiful girl there, her name is Anna. I spent the whole night with her, she was very nice, funny and she was wearing a lovely blue dress. It was a wonderful time. everyone was happy but Kate looked disappointed because no one get her any gift.
