At Ultra, we want to be sure to meet the needs of our ever-growing

international customer base, and we also want to be sure to give you as much as possible to offer your customers. That's why, after paying close attention to retailer feedback, we're adding new plan options, increasing our offering of unlimited international destinations,

Please note that if a customer already subscribes to the $29 or $44 plan, they'd need to actually make the switch to one of the new plans in order to gain the benefits listed here. Otherwise, their plan will stay exactly the same, and they may remain on their current plan for as long as they'd like. (However, once they switch to a new plan, they cannot go back to a Classic plan.)

SECOND, we're increasing the number of unlimited-calling destinations on every one of our existing Ultra plans. Subscribers on our $19, $34 and $44 plans now get unlimited calling to over 30 destinations, while our $29, $39, $49, and $59 plans include unlimited calling to over 60 destinations.

THIRD: A large portion of Ultra destinations have new per-minute rates,

and bringing a sizeable portion of our already-low per-minute rates even lower. STICKY RICE IS EVEN STICKIER THAN YOU THINK: The pieces of the Great Wall of China built during the Ming dynasty (roughly 600 years ago) are held together by a mixture of powdered limestone and sticky rice. DID YOU KNOW...?June 17 marks the 70th anniversary of the first mobile phone call, and we've decided to celebrate by looking at the evolution of the mobile phone through the years:

THE FIRST WIRELESS PHONE CALL WAS MADE IN 1946 from a dashboard phone through a network developed by Bell Labs. The service would span over 100 cities, but each local network could only handle three callers at a time. While cellular technology was still decades away, this was a crucial first step toward the mobile calling of today.

THE FIRST HANDHELD CELLULAR CALL WAS MADE IN 1973 on a prototype of what would later become Motorola's DynaTAC 8000X. Aptly nicknamed "The Brick," this phone weighed about 2 pounds and required 10 hours of charging for 30 minutes of use. The DynaTAC went on sale in 1984 with a retail price of $3995 (equivalent to $9000 today).

THE ANALOG VERSION OF THE FIRST FLIP PHONE – Motorola's Micro TAC 9800X – was released in 1989. Its light weight and pocket-friendly size made it a groundbreaking advancement in the world of handheld phones.

IBM LAUNCHED THE SIMON IN 1994, and the device is widely considered to be the world's first smartphone. In addition to making phone calls, it was used for paging, faxing, and emails. The Simon featured a backlit touchscreen, built-in modem, and a mindblowing-at-the-time 1 MB of memory.

THE YEAR 2000 SAW THE DEBUT OF THE Nokia 3310 which is still regarded as one of the best mobile phones ever made due to its compact size and impressive durability. It boasted innovative features like voice dialing, mobile chat, picture messaging, and games – including Snake II, of course!

WITH THE MID-2000'S CAME THE RELEASE OF THE MOTOROLA RAZR, which had the thinnest profile of any phone available at the time. Its sleek design, fashionable color options, and relatively modest price made it a fixture in pop culture, and it became the bestselling "clamshell" phone of all time.

THE IPHONE 3G SMARTPHONE WAS RELEASED IN 2008 . We're pretty sure you're already well-informed about this one.

"The Bachelor" and all of its spin-offs. On a personal level, I am highly prone to weird ailments and bizarre workplace injuries. For example: During one project, I developed carpal tunnel syndrome AND a strange sinus issue at the exact same time (the latter of which never went away). I've nearly blinded myself with an optical mouse, twice. I sneeze when I chew gum. By the time this newsletter goes out, I'm sure I'll have another one to add to the list!
